You Bet, Leave on a 125-150 hit and let the Boost reference work its magic slowly pulling nitrous out as boost comes in. There will be no sitting at the light trying to build boost for me I may leave a 50 or so in it all the way for a cooling effect.

Re: And so it begins... Project "Turbo X"

it allows me to control the nitrous based on boost level. How ever I choose to set it... Lots of bottle when boost is low, little or no bottle when boost is high. Thats how I plan to use it anyway.

7's sounds fun, but I want to be able to drive it to the track. I dont think I would be able to comfortably do both.

95% sure I will be using stock crank. I still have not ordered the rotating parts so there is a small chance this will end up a 408 single turbo but not likely.

Beautiful truck, I still need a ride some day. Man, 27MPG, that's awesome, may have to get you to do mine for me. Maybe when you pull the old motor and put the new one in you can just drop it into my truck.

Re: And so it begins... Project "Turbo X"

Looks like you beat me to it. I've got a S-10 frame right now that I'm cutting up to put my 408 stroker in. Was going to go twin turbos but decided since Kooks came out w/ a header for the 2006-2008 Trailblazer SS that I'm going to get a 1 7/8" to 2" stepped header to fit my frame. I'm going naturally aspirated w/ the stroker. I'm trying to see if I can convert to rack and pinion for more room. The block is in the machine shop right now and the rotating assembly is all Callies. The pistons are Diamond brand, the heads are L92 w/ hollow valves, modified carbed intake w/ intake elbow. Should be seeing 550-600hp on street tune and more on race tune. The killer for me on the turbo idea was running intercooler plumbing. I'm running a T56 w/ the Viper tail shaft and housing. I'm still driving the donor truck right now until the frame is ready. I ended up w/ three S10's this year so I have plenty to cut up. I'll be watching your thread.

Thats the nice part of what BlackX is doing, with a remote turbo there is little need for an intercooler since it is so far from the engine the air temps are cooler, it also leaves more room and less heat in the engine compartment...The hard part is getting the plumbing up past the engine there isn't much space to do this.....Awesome project can't wait to see more progress

The Sandersons will work fine. I built a turbo setup on a 2000 Camaro using the stock cast iron 6.0 truck manifolds and made 865rwhp on the dyno. Was going to use the same on the S10 until the idea changed.

This was the turbonetics turbo I have that I decided not to go with. Probably will use it on something else. It's a 68mm w/ a custom anti-surge inlet. Has a Garret center section,4" v band exhaust,3" compressor out. Good for about 650hp.

The current converter is a 4400RPM but I will be stepping back to the 3600 I had earlier this year.

Current Gears are 3.73 and will also be stepping down to 3.55's

It deffinatly needs the cage. The total weight addition between turbo and cage will be about 200 lbs all together. Current weight is 3850 with driver and will prolly sit about 4000 with me when this project is all done.

Gonna have to make a little extra jam to offset the added weight but I think I can do that.
