Re: 95 Blazer: Build Thread

There's a guy on craigslist selling a 5.7 Vortec that's still in his truck, but he's got the whole front end of the truck off, it's just the engine sitting there.

Wants $550 if I go pull it out or $750 if he pulls it out.

Re: 95 Blazer: Build Thread

I gave $900 for mine. It had 98k on it and came with a 30 day warranty. That's for the entire engine from throttle body to flywheel. If I wasn't buying it from a junk yard the. I'd want to hear it run first and if I didn't know anything about engines then take someone with me that did. I'd search or post a thread to see exactly what all you need to do to get a 5.7 in yours. I know on mine that other than the regular v8 swap stuff that I had to buy some 20ga wire and v8 injector pod. I also bought a 411 PCM and connectors so I could swap to that PCM, they're easier to tune and I made an egr block off plate since that's just useless. I think you might have the obdI PCM though and if that's the case it will take a little more work to make the 5.7 work. It's worth it though.

I'll definitely have to look into and see if I can start gathering parts

Re: 95 Blazer: Build Thread

Finally got the tires and wheels sold, so I'm rolling on stocks now. But either today or tomorrow I'll be getting IROC rims. I found 2 guys. One has 15" with 2 new tires and 2 good tires for $200 but i can probably make him come down a bit.. and then the other has 16" that are "chrome" or aluminum with 2 good tires and 2 bald tires, he wants $130

Re: 95 Blazer: Build Thread

I've been drawing my truck out and I finally came up with how I want this Blazer. For paint, I'm gonna do a blue like ZQ8Blazer's but a little darker. My dad is good friends with a guy that'll do it for free if I buy him all the paint. Next, is go back to a chrome grille. Then, take the emblem, paint it black, and outline it in blue (like SS emblem just not red outline). Gonna keep the black door handles, etc etc. then for wheels I'm gonna stick with the IROC wheels for a bit and save up money for lowering and buying some Weld Pro Star wheels. They're about $170 from weld but Jegs and Summit have their own brand and the about $120. So it all comes down to money. But that's what I want to do. So expect more pics and more progress!!

Re: 95 Blazer: Build Thread

Went to the junkyard earlier today and was surprised to see all of the 95-97 S10s and Blazers they had. Lot of em were really messed up but managed to find some small stuff. That long vent that goes on the top of the dash is (well, was) missing, so I looked around and found one and got it for $5. Then on the same Blazer I found the A/C switches. I really didnt need this, mine was perfectly fine... But I was like eh, what the hell. Plus the lights in mine didnt work and the lights in this one does, so maybe it is useful. Anyways, I got that for $15. The temp. switch was missing so I just took it off mine.

Then... on that SAME blazer were stock "swirl" wheels in perfect shape. No rust, dents, etc. like I said I sold those Wild Country tires and wheels so I have the stocks on now. Only problem was, when I first bought the blazer it came with 3 swirl wheels and a spare. So I picked these 2 up for $35 each and now I've got all matching wheels PLUS a matching spare. OH YA! now just gotta get some new tires considering two of mine are bald. These wheels won't be staying long tho, need to find me some IROCs!

Re: 95 Blazer: Build Thread

Got my IROC wheels! Got a set of 4 for $150. 215/65/15 (very small, but it'll do for now and it'll look a lot better once I do the 3/4 drop). Two tires are brand new and 2 have about 200 miles on em. So since I got the IROCS, that means.......

These are up for sale!

PM me or just post on here. Comes with 5 wheels, 3 have tires. Size is 235/75/15. Also will come with center caps.

But now to the IROCs.....

Re: 95 Blazer: Build Thread

sweet. Are you leaving the rims gray? Some people polish up the little ridges on each spoke and around the sidewall. I would like to do that with mine.
