94 Sonoma {56K call you cable company}

Might as well post in here. I'll update this with whatever I do with the truck.

Gave this deck away

I don't think I'm doing to bad since I got it for free. Gunna be fixing it up when I can get my hands on parts. Other than the front end and the tailgate, the truck is in good shape compared to others around here.
I will update when things are done to this thing.

Well, trip ended early. Couldn't get ahold of any of the yards and got no parts what so ever. Came back and found a hood at the yards here. Its a blazer one with a few dents, but way better than mine.
Pics soon.

Re: 94 Sonoma {56K call you cable company}

Fixed the glove box.. well.. got a new frame thing with the hinges from the blazer and adjusted it all up. Glovebox fits perfectly.
We had to remove the rad support bolts and shift the whole front end on my truck. That would probably explain the front end issues. Also, my door hinges are shot so that throws off teh fender gap.

Re: 94 Sonoma {56K call you cable company}

Not bad for free, the floor mats and bungee chorded front end are tits. A perfect canvas for a V8 swap or bags. F the turbo, the V8'll be cheaper.

If I was in your shoes, I'd do a nice 350 swap and leave the body all f'd up so when you smoke the honda's, they feel extra bad because they got smoked by a POS. Sleepers are where it's at!

Re: 94 Sonoma {56K call you cable company}

Well. We had to loosen the rad support bolts (well, take them out) then lift the front end of the truck, and move it over, so everything would line up. The hood fits good now. I'd get some pics but I'm off to school..
I'll update when I get home.

Re: 94 Sonoma {56K call you cable company}

Well I haven't updated this in a looong time. Not much has happened with the truck. I have a tailgate put on it. I have composite headlights mounted, they will be wired up sometime, then the front end I bought will go on, bought a grille and bumper and stuff.

I still need mirrors.

Yeah, I actually feel bad for the truck, seeing what its been through.. haha.. It is a slow going project. It will be back to normal some day. Once we get the headlights bolted up right, the front end will go on.

Re: 94 Sonoma {56K call you cable company}

woot for good looking used parts. There should be a bracket that runs from the bumper end to the side of the frame to suck that edge of the bumper in some. if not you should be able to adjust the front sheetmetal around some. It took me a while to get my gaps decent after the first time i had my front end apart

Are they triangular shaped? I didn't get them off the truck at the junkyard, and that place is ~8hrs away.

Ahh I know what your talking about. I got the 95 composite grille, headlights w/brackets, and compete front bumper for $125 I think. Tailgate I got in Montana.. lol. I know it says S10 but all the emblems are going.

The headlights need to be adjusted in/out. I'm not sure how to do that though.

However it looks better than it did when I first got it.

I need to repair the lower valance I have for the bumper, it has a crack in it.

More colors... it'll be one color some day.. haha.

I'm kinda thinking of ordering SDs front bag kit..

Re: 94 Sonoma {56K call you cable company}

Tooks some more pictures of the front end, and took some pics of the tach I was putting in since I was bored..

Not sure how to close up this gap, but I don't have the bracket..

Headlights need to be adjusted

The tach is just sitting there, I know the cluster wont fit in with it there.

Re: 94 Sonoma {56K call you cable company}

Did you get the mirrors on?

I was wondering about wiring up a tach and since you're truck is identical to mine I figured the way you did yours would be the same. Any idea on how to wire up an aftermarket speedo?

Thanks for posting the inter fender thread, I was just looking into that today and couldn't find it in a search.

I have gotten the passenger mirror on, my dad had the door panel off already so it was easy.
Haven't gotten the drivers side on, I've been sick. It was hard enough to put the passenger mirror on.. My head was poundin and my nose was running.

The tach was easy. I pulled the cluster out and the dash bezel. the cluster is easy to get out, and theres no wires attached (I was amazed. didn't know there was just one connector)
I went on line and couldn't really find an answer and I got bored so I just took an educated guess
I started the truck w/no cluster, and temporairly wired the tach to my stereo harness (no stereo in, stuck the wires in the plugs)
Then I touched the green tach signal wire to the pins on the connector. Also one of the guys in my tach thread said on the cluster the tach-less ones will have a circuit or whatever than ends soon after it comes out the connector. Thats the one on my truck that was the tach.
If you can find my thread I have it circled on a picture. Just touch the wire before you wire it in.
Then we wired the tach to the park switch.

As for an aftermarket speedometer, not sure. Never had done much wiring and I'm no mechanic. Still learning myself.
