Re: 65 ford shortbed

looks great - I love old trucks.

I got a few questions (playing devil's advocate here)

#1. What happens if you ever need to get the tranny out? I saw that you welded the crossmember right to the chassis.

#2. I've never done a bagged setup on any vehicle so I'm not really sure. I have built 4-link setups. aren't the 4 links supposed to end up parallel @ ride height? From the pictures it looks like the uppers are @ a differant angle than the lowers when "laid out". maybe it works @ your ride height - just curious. I actually see this on alot of the rear bag set-ups around here.

#3. How did you figure where to put the subframe and @ what height to install it? It looked like you installed it without the cab & nose on it. Just do it by wheelbase?

I'm not trying to be an a-hole, just curious.

Anyway Looks great! Keep up the good work!

Here's a pic of my OLD Ford (please do me a favor and not call it a "rat rod" it's a hot rod )

Re: 65 ford shortbed

thanx.

1.) if i have to drop the tranny, id have to pull the motor any ways.... i cant possibly get to any of the bolts around the back.

2.)they are, and mine get real close( to parallel) when lifted. i know mine isnt "perfect" geometry, but my pinion stays fine so im happy. this truck will never see the high side of 3k rpms and will never be anything but a cruiser.

3.) yep wheelbase and crossmember flat/ level wit the ground and the rest of the frame.

truck looks good.
