Re: 65 ford shortbed
Do you have enough room to get a bolt in the center bolt hole of the lower bag? It looks like the weld is right up against the hole. You need to run a bolt in that hole, at the very least. Even if you are using the outer bolt hole, because the bag will work its way out of position and slide around on the mount if you only use the outer bolt. Just FYI.
Also are you going to box the section below your upper link cross member? |

Re: 65 ford shortbed
yes and yes seth lol. i welded the plate on there with a bolt and a socket on it so i knew for sure it would be able to bolt to the bag in the center.
i just havent boxed the part in yet, i have several things i have to "clean and tidy " up before i spray it Last edited by fiveinchbodydrop : 12-03-2007 at 09:51 PM. |

did a bit today on it..boxed the frame in front of the notch, still need to do it behind the notch. added some gussets to the bottom of the upper bag mount, still need to do the ones on the bars... reinforced the cab mounts where i cut the middle out for the driveshaft ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: 65 ford shortbed
is that crossmember for the upper link bars permanent. I've watched alot of your builds and just expected more of you I guess.
EDIT: well, I see that the bed is gonna be sheet-metaled and it's really just got to be more "functional" than pretty. so nm Last edited by scrubz : 12-05-2007 at 10:10 PM. |

Re: 65 ford shortbed
Looks nice.
But why didnt you 45 the pieces for the front crossmember (the one the uppers are bolted to). Never got why people just stacked the metal... |

Re: 65 ford shortbed
im at least gunna cap em, maybe 45 the top then cap it...but like i stated earlier, this is gunna be sheet metaled over. i never leave my frames out in the open, its not my style and i dont really care for it. so if im gunna cover it why build a buncha tube work and such????
