Re: 3+ years in the making

not much real progress... ive spent most of my time planning and measure and figure out what needs to be done, and what not...
anyways i plated the drivers kick panel to reinforce it for a body mount plate to be able to weld it to and be strong.....
then built the body mount box plate..
i lowered the body mount perch down one inch to save some extra floor space. there should be around 3/4 to an inch of clearance between the new frame and floor...
this pic suxs and it makes it look all crooked and not square, but it really is..

my bead roller came in.. i modified it and built a base for it that i clamp to my work table... still need to reinforce the top plate alot before i get into actually using it..

and it came with alot of dies too..

some test pieces...

well this weekend the body shoudl be solidly mounted to frame and shoudl have a good portion of the floor done... or so i hope to...

lol well when you strip apart the same car almsost weekley for the past 3 years or so, you remember what size bolts and where everything is located in a snap.... also not to mention about half of the trucks stock parts are non pressent, so disassembly is easy as hell.. lol

traditional body drop of the "stock" floor loses alot of headroom 4.5 inches.. my traditional with the new floo i should only really lose about 2-3 inches... and when it comes to body dropping those few inches saved mean alot... i dont want a cramped feeling truck.

Re: 3+ years in the making

floor looks badass, but i hope your gonna wrap the exhaust cause it looks like the floor's right on top of that pipe. atleast you won't have to worry about heat.

i like the old school method (traditional bodydrop) versus sfbd... but the blazers floor wastes alot of space, since i removed most of the shit that took up so much room. and plus, the why the hell not factor... so building my own floor seemed more logical to me.. lol
