Well most of you know I had a 98 Blazer that I was going to sfa. Well wiring to the transmission caught fire. Manage to get the fire put out before the whole thing went up in flames. I ended up buying a 1997 Grand Cherokee from my boss but I needed a truck because I hauled stuff for work. So I found a 1999 s10 reg cab short bed with a 2.2 5 speed 2wd. Perfect body no rust or messed up panels. Only thing wrong is the color is a flat dark purple. Someone put a Sonoma front clip on it.

Decided to take a quick pic while I was at my buddy's house. I need new wheels badly. I found a set of 08 corvette wheels and tires at our shop. Ones is messed up though. I am planning to buy a set of Z06 wheels from my boss's son.
Also I looked at the RPOs today to see what option I had and I found out that I have the ZQ8 option.
Some parts I picked up today. 03 s10 dash bezel with one crack. I'm going to fix the crack this spring along with smoothing it and painting it. Double din dash mount. Along with the 2” blocks. I know they are aluminum but they never been used plus free.
After talking to one of my coworkers at work(he does nothing but ls swaps, restorations and custom work) I finally got a plans for the Noma
Shave the tailgate handle and antenna
Smooth color matched door handles
G6 seats
Z06 wheels
⅗ or ⅘ drop(depends omd gap between tires and fender)
Bravada front bumper and fogs
Low beam and fog hids
35% tint on side glass
5 or 10% on back glass
Color match grille
Billet grille
Smooth gauge bezel
Full interior LEDs
Bed light bed
Paint frame
Undercoat under bed
4.8 or 5.3 swap with cam and ls6 intake
4.3 5 speed trans
Sounds like a plan. Even though they were free which is cool I'd look into upgrading those blocks in the future. The locating pins have a tendency to break off. They corrode real bad too over time.
Well I didn't get the blocks in this weekend because I had to help dad with the house. I was going to do it today but it started to snow/ice last night. I'm going to do it after it turns nice again. This spring I plan to redo the suspension.
What I plan to do
Blazer 2” drop spindles
Blazer front brakes
2” drop leafs
1” or 2” drop steel blocks
Blazer 4wd rear end
84 camaro wheels for summer
Stock steel wheels for winter
Bravada front bumper (have on just need to get it painted)
I'm wanting to do something different with my third brake light. Any ideas? I know I don't want to completely shave it.
Member hi_im_sean can make you some sweet billet or steel blocks. He's a good dude if you want to go that route. As for the 3rd brake light anything you consider will most likely involve getting rid of what's there first and then going from there.
I've looked around and the thin flush mount led looks the best.
I finally got my 2” blocks in. I had to put two rear tires on any way so I figured I should just go ahead and do it. No pics right now. I'll post some tomorrow
i also have the aluminum blocks, but i prepped mine and painted them with some tremclad before i installed them. 2 years and no signs of corrosion yet. truck looks good, def has potential
Mine are just temporary. I plan on redoing my suspension this spring/summer.
My buddy and I were curious about what color my truck was factory and it happened to be Indigo Metallic which is my favorite color they had for s-series. After getting used to the purple and not wanting to paint it I changed my mind. It's getting painted later on. I plan on doing 90% of the body/paint work with some help from my boss's son/ my coworker.
For some reason an Indigo Metallic GMC Sonoma reg cab stepside zq8 as always been one of my favorite trucks
Here's a pic of my truck with the 2” blocks. I had to get different tires for it because I blew one out driving home last night. New rear tire size is 225/60r15 BF Goodrich Radial RTs. I am going to put the same size tires in the front.
I have a question for y'all. Here in about a month I plan on swapping my rear axle with the disc one in my Blazer. I know I will have to redo my e brake cables but what do I need to get the brakes to work? Different hoses or adapters?
I also got a little surprise in stored for yall in about a week
Pretty sure you need conversion brackets in or to get the e brakes to work. That's another thing that Hi_Im_Sean can help you with. Or maybe Rhotpursuit.
