you have a 215 tire on a 8.5" wide wheel? that's insane.... that's a good reason why i keeps breaking the bead. a 8" wheel should have a minimum of 225 wide.

Yea, when i bought they tires they had to go get them from some other store. So then it was like 15 minutes between where i lived and there and i had to keep driving back for a whole week. Then they were like, we got the wrong tires, these ones just have a smaller sidewall, so i said thats fine just throw them on cuz i'm not driving back here again. They didn't tell me that they weren't wide enough... So now i'm looking for new tires that fit, I read that for a 8.5 that a 235 is what is recommended. ****in Big O Tire, never going back.

I think that means the smallest rim they will fit is a 7.5 and i'm sure they will stretch to about a 9 or so. Thats what they did on mine, i'm sure 8.5 was as big as a 215 could stretch and keep a bead, so they threw em on there. Cool, tks for comments guys. They do make some nice aftermarket headlights for 02-03 bugeye wrx (projector, HID, tinted, etc). May look into it more oneday. I've had people come up to me before & say they normally do not like the bugeye Subes, but it looks great on my car (yeah, I think the stance, wheels, body kit, etc does help). Subaru changed the headlights to oval design 04-05, which is when the sti finally came to our shores (looks good). 2006-07 Subes had more generic angled lights, which I do like, but these years had the split grille (designed by former Saab employee), which I do not like. I have seen a body kit that gets rid of this split grille design, & looks really good then. 08 & up, completely changed body design (do not like as much) + now sti only comes in hatchback ???

been running 225/40 for almost 4 yrs never had an issue with them coming off the bead

Well i measured mine and they are an 8.5, and i looked at something that said a 245 was supposed to be right on for a 8.5 and could go like 7-9 if i remember. Did that do anything to your speedometer, right now mines 5 off.
