Re: Upgrade
I know you're tired of hearing it, but your blazer was tits. Even though it rides better, I would've held onto the blazer, payed it off, and then looked at a fullsize.
Oh yeah, and ![]() |

Re: Upgrade
I like the truck, but I will miss the blazer. At least I still have a piece of it on mine.
Since everyone else is making suggestions about what to do with it, I'd put some 22-24" wheels on it and bring it down just enough to even out the fender gap around the wheels. |

Re: Upgrade
i keep changing my mind on how much lift i want. i convince myself to do a 7" crossmember kit on 35's. then a 5" lift on 35's and trimming. and what i hope in the end i convince myself to do.. 3" spindle and 1 or 2" block on 32-33's.. cheapest and ride wont change at all that away.

Re: Upgrade
Yes, Chris' Blazer is gone, but mine is still around for everyone to oogle at!
![]() So Chris, probably a dumb question, but is it running the 4.3L or is it a V8? Can't really tell from that under-hood pic. It's a sweet ass truck, that's fo sho! If it were mine though, I would leave the front stock, lower the rear to match the front and get a set of staggered wheels with stock width tires up front and some big fatties out back, then do a nice all stainless, quiet exhaust with a couple of 2.5" stainless turn-downs at the corners. But that's just me. ![]() Looking forward to seeing what creation you make out of this one! |

Yeah, I guess I can see where you would want to do that now that you can without bottoming out. It's just a major pain to clean up afterwords. That shit gets in all those nooks and crannies!

Re: Upgrade
i ALMOST kept my blazer as well. but i have no need for 3 trucks lol... the blazer would just end up sitting for a year or so until my luv was going. even then the old man probably wouldnt want something else just sitting around.. already have 2 pos's taking up the garage while the 06/07 trucks sit in the driveway LOL

Re: Upgrade
3" spindles only 285's, biggest that I have seen on just a spindle lift
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These are 305/65/17's, but this is a 4wd, so the wheels don't stick out as much, compared to a spindle lift on a 2wd, doubt they would fit on just a spindle lift. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: Upgrade
your the man with the pics!
im going to do a spindle lift and just get it aligned and drive it like that for now.. and when i get extra cash buy tires. my buddy works at discount so hopefully they will have both sizes in stock so i can try them.. the 285's actually look fairly wide in those pics, on that other truck they looked skinny. but that 305 is killer! |

Re: Upgrade
The "other" truck has Mickey Thompson tires. The black one I just posted is Nitto Terra Grapplers. Some Companie's tires run smaller/bigger than others at the same size. I have Terra Grapplers, and I love them. They are pretty quite on the road, have worn very well and even.
If you want to keep your ride quality, just stick with spindles for now. They only change the mounting location for the wheel assembly, and does not effect steering geometry, or supsension travel (which lets you run factory shocks). Spacers will stiffen up the ride quality. Get some 285's, and put a block in back, or not. 285's would be VERY friendly with 3:23 gears that you have, and if you want to go bigger later on, you can probably sell the 285's pretty easily. |
