Re: Project Beer Run

for the grille I think you should make a billet-style grille out of copper tubing. either just straight lines or bend them and curve them like a moonshine still.

it would def take some creativity.

Re: Project Beer Run

Hey man love the truck! I really like the color. I was looking for a flat black for my 93 and you have inspired me to go with the chalkboard look. plus my 2 year old would love to write on it.

Is the paint holding up pretty good? Mine's a DD. Do you wash it with plain soap and water or a pressure washer? Last question, did you buff of polish it at all?

Once again love the truck.

Re: Project Beer Run

Just wash it with soap and water, like a regular car wash. So far since I finished it for Labor day it's been holding up fine, no prob.
BTW the chalkboard paint covers really well, 8 cans did the whole truck.

And Thanks!

Re: Project Beer Run

Hey once again love your truck. I wanted a really flat black look and I didn't even consider chalkboard. It is definitely the color that I was looking for. It's almost a muscular look in some ways.
Well, your truck made me go ahead and get off my arse and finally paint my daily beater. It looks so good to me now, I might not call it a beater anymore and finally fix it up lol.

Here's what I started with

This is how she looks now.

Haven't used any chalk on it yet. I used about 9 cans and got about 2 coats on it. I'm going to do 2 more before I write on it. And another thing is this paint is tough. It doesn't scratch at all. It's an excellent product.

I am very pleased with it and I am in love with the flat color. My wife hates it but what does she know lol. Next up is chrome grille and front and rear bumpers, lowering it 3/4 and then my flat black painted 17's

Once again love your truck and thanks for the inspiration.

Re: Project Beer Run

Hmmm....what different surfaces will that paint still too metal(obviously) but what about plastic? It would be kind of cool to use that on interior trim pieces in my truck and maybe even eventually do a plastic headliner painted with that(if it would work). Then when people get in my truck they could write on the ceiling!! I might try to talk my brother into painting his 93 cavalier wagon trash hauler like that since it's rusted and needs paint. He only takes off trash in it since his daily is a 2010 Mazda 3!

Re: Project Beer Run

what do you guys think of this as a new shift handle?

It's ceramic and brand new in the box, a friend of mine got it for me and he wants me to use it as a hood ornament. I'm too worried that someone might take off with it!

as it being PBR... do not put it on the hood someone will steal it or it will break off if or something ... put it inside as a shifter... i think it would be better IMO

I have a keg gas tank ready to go, I just need to install it, I just like the room the bed has, unlike my other truck it's nice to be able to haul stuff.

I will do the bottle cap bowtie, that's a great idea!

Guys! I still want some more plates from different states, anything not Michigan, Indiana, Texas, Idaho or Illinios, I have enough of those.

PM me and I will cover the shipping.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Well, you don't want more MI plates.... I thought about sending it to MiniTruckin, but they wouldn't think it's a "minitruck" themed plate.
