Cool Pics of my work in progress :)

Finally got a half decently nice day that I could take my truck out of winter hiding to snap a few pics for you guys to see. If this works (first time posting a ic in a message), and you pardon the dirt, here's a few pics of my 87 ext.cab. She's FULLY shaved, pumping on 355 cubic inches of chev V8, and almost sitting at the perfect altitude. It's still under construction, but not too bad for a 100% owner built truck... Let me know what you guys think so far...

Hey thats awesome...I hope mine turns out that smooth. How did you shave your body line...did you weld it in, or did you fill it in w/ something? Me and some guys at SSF have been going round about the proper way to fill that line...Could you share with us on how you did that.

Thanks,
Jason!

I talked with several local street rod builders here before I shaved the body line. welding will cause way to much heat and warping. I thought about old schooling it and "leading" it in but most of the guys agreed that with all the modern short strand reinforced fillers (MarGlass, EverGlass, EagleClaw, etc), it would be best to use fill. DON'T use regular body filler, they shrink as they harden. Hope this helps.... BTW, I hope you have as much patients as I do, it takes a LOT of blocking....

The rollpan is acutally one I made myself out of steel. I even hand rolled the light buckets. I got pics out in my mom's back yard building it.. I LOVE MY LINCOLN WELDER!

And yes, those are '97 Z28 buckets you see through the window.

Actually, it's 2001 Chrysler Prowler Orange. You can see how the color shifts in the sunlight in the pics, but you gotta see it at night when I roll under the street light! :headbang:

Sweet ride man! Love the work done to it. All the body mods stand out real well with that shade. When I get mine painted it'll have a similar shade like that but a little different.

Keep it up

Thanks... Hopefully I'll be able to get to work on my 86 blazer come start of the month. Right now I'm helping out a buddy of mine do his 85 ext cab.. He's gonna paint it Kawasaki green, should look pretty hot. Little more guidcoat and block and she'll be ready. I'll post some picks next week.

If you want to drive all the way from maryland to try, you're welcome to it.. The button is the same as having a door handle with the keylock shaved. Once I arm my alarm, the door locks and the button is the same as lifting the handle on a locked door..
