I like it. How come you primed it and got rid of the stock paint? From what I can see in your avatar, the body didnt look real bad.

The paint was actually pretty bad, it was a florida truck and had a super cheap paint job done that was faded and chipping off. Thats also the second bed on the truck, I had a full skin with leds before and wanted to go back to havin a tailgate and stock taillights.

Re: Pics of my bagged dakota

I loved that body style...with the extended cab of course.

When I was in high school, a kid had one all done up with the V8 but very clean looking with a big stereo in it. Once he turned the system up and it sounded sooo good for only two twelves and a 500 watt amp. I think it was all RF stuff. Unfortunately, he was involved in an accident that destroyed the truck.

Re: Pics of my bagged dakota

hey love the truck! im need to get started on mine, my buddy grand10 was talking to you in the nl club forum, and seen what ya posted in there. i seen ya said alot of stuff has to be narrowed? any idea on how much front and back have to be narrowed to get it to tuck all the way around? ive been on the custom dakota forums and most of what i read is you need to z teh front and nothing about narrowing? any tips? theres also a chance of just doing a firewall back frame, and hate to say it but throw a s10 front clip under it for the easiness and cheap parts.

You don't really have to narrow the front, you just have to get the right offset wheel, the rear you have to narrow if you keep the stock rearend. I'm on customdakotas also. You need a +35mm or more offset up front. I have/had some 22x9.5 that are just too wide barely clears the fender without tires on them and you can't get much turning out of them. Plannin on runnin 20's for now and maybe just do a complete frame and put a mustang II in. What year is your truck? you might not even have to do the 5 lug conversion, I'd just get some wheels that'll work for sure up front for ya and then for the rear figure out how much you need to narrow. If ya have other questions let me know.

Re: Pics of my bagged dakota

im so takin ya up on the help offer! haha its either a 92 or 94 cant rmebre its my uncles old truck and he said you want it take it. so i have to take a three hr hike up to lake superior to pick it up... mustang II's are a great stub, but i wont use that front clip its like throwin a 350 in whatever hot rod ya built. lol but i guess the same can be said for a s10 stub. i guess that will be figured out when i get there. and thanks for the info!

Re: Pics of my bagged dakota

As far as I know they switched to 6 lug in 91. So either you can either rock the 6 lug and have a harder time findin rims. Otherwise if you switch to the 5 lug bolt pattern its 5x4.5, which is quite a bit easier to find rims
