pics from ITB.. and GFs new truck.

went to ITB.. met a few people off the forum.
got sunburned, hung out and had a good time.
got the "new" bumper back on... thank god.
seems my truck has a huge problem and maybe you can help me out..
ok.. first off I never built it for the intention to just make it a show truck..
but I do go to alot of shows... maybe about 10 and have only placed in one.
I would like to win a little somethinsomethin for all my effort...
is there something ugly about my truck??

and i overheated and pulled over infront of this

and...........
the GFs new ride..
01 ranger.. dropped 4/5.. just minor stuff.. just need to weld in the rollpan shes got for it.
the plans for the ranger are:
maybe 1in lower
hot rod flatz baby blue
carbon fiber hood
mustang rims painted black..

Re: pics from ITB.. and GFs new truck.

i saw your truck a few times but never found the emo kid around it lol. looks very clean. if you are looking for suggestions, i think the color, wheels, and height should make some changes. looks pretty good the way it is though, theres just a lot of competition.

Re: pics from ITB.. and GFs new truck.

I think it looks great now with the stock bumper/valance, sure the color wouldn't be my first choice but the way you've done the truck I think it fits very well. I like the wheels personally, not the typical wheel you'd find on a custom S10 but I wouldn't change them! I wouldn't worry about not placing, a lot of people have horrendous taste in modifications and those are the vehicles that seem to place in the custom truck classes...I would be happy enough knowing that the truck is done cleanly and tastefully.

nice meeting you at the show ryan. I think the truck looks great as is. Don't really care for the wheels much, but hey, it's your truck, as long as you like it.

Do you know how many people told me to take the body kit off of mine, and when I did, now I hear a ton of people telling me I should have kept it on! lol. Just build the truck the way YOU like it... that is most important.

magic. duh...but i'm pissed cause you beat me to that question.

actually, i don't remember what brand this rollpan was, i think grant...but there is a bracket that you can weld to on the backside for some stability, but you're gonna have to also make some supports to keep the stepshaver-like section from flexing, i don't remember where all we braced his..but yea...fusor is your friend with this...

Re: pics from ITB.. and GFs new truck.

who in the hell cares if you win? i havent even got judged at a show yet this year, and ive probally been to about 7-8. i have enough trophies. a mag feature is the real throphy to me.

and to answer your question, the frog, the color, the wheels, the suspension, the crooked rearview mirror, and the tag thats taped to the back window when it clearly has a spot in the bumper. just a few reasons. and just because i listed these things doesnt mean i dont like it or its an ugly truck, but its not something that would place at a show.

Re: pics from ITB.. and GFs new truck.

you have the same prob as me and prob everyone else. you don't have enough to compete at the big shows cus there are 100 s10's there and the smaller shows are mostly old judges that look for really clean stock 20's-70's cars. at least that's how it is down here. I wouldn't worry about it all to much, if you like your truck than that's all that matters

Ryan your truck is titties. but the brutal honesty is that most of the stuff that wins these days either has a bodydrop or is bagged or is old. statis truck dont cut it in the eyes of judges at most shows these days. and it sucks. i have seen a shitty bag job win over a decent static vehicle at some shows. dont change a damn thing if you dont want to Ryan. looks good to me bro.

aww thanks.
yah its kinda sad b/c the last two shows ive been to bagged trucks were in "mild".. seems like its getting too common.. but i never built it for the purpose of getting best in show or a mag... so i dunno if ill ever bag it.. maybe ill go with hydros b/c not many people do those anymore.
