International Scout with a splash of S-10 ***ONE OF A KIND***

Here is my baby... It started as the red monster but was soon blasted and completely dismantled. then every unnecessary hole was filled. (door handles, etc) Body was completely smoothed out and floor was replaced. Next came the suspension. And thats where you S-10-ers come in... The front is a clip from a 2001 S-10 and the rear from the same doner. (Yes the transmission cross member is in the grass) Just waiting on a few parts to arrive to complete the bag set-up and then its off to paint... And the motor will be a S/B 350 also... should push it around quite nicely. Let me know what you think...--Chris

Yeah, then you know how indestructible they are... A lot of the die hard scout heads are pissed what I'm doin' to a perfectly good 4WD but I really could care less. Just want something different and I'd say I'm there...
I literally only drove it one time about 200 feet before I started tearing into it.

Re: International Scout with a splash of S-10 ***ONE OF A KIND***

Yes, it will be very, very low. As it is now the lowest part of the frame is about 1 inch from the pavement. I didn't really want to cut into the bed area so a true resting frame might be hard but the body has not been on since the frame has been modified... Here is an updated body picture though. Looks a little strange but the front 1/4 panel is just sitting on it, a little hanging off is more like it. The whole suspension should be complete by wednesday next week. Ill post new pictures then---

I sure hope so, It has been a 2 year journey so far... I should be all done in a year or so, Paint and everything. Paint scheme is already decided. It is Harley Davidson colors Suede blue pearl and vivid black. Here a little photo shop action of the over all idea I had...

Finally got to spend a little time with it...
Cut out the spring pockets a little bit...

Does everyone smooth the bottom out more or is this enough removed?

Awesome project, I've never seen a slammed Scout before (or a slammed International anything for that matter). I'm starting to think the S-10 front clip is becoming the "new" MustangII clip of the street rod world

Didn't exactly "bolt right up" but you cant ask for an easier doner to work with...and there are so many available parts for these just getting brakes for an S-10 vice a 38 year old scout is a nice bonus...

There are four others around the country, None of them are this involved. The Orange one has bags on the front the others are just dropped.

Go figure the one that's bagged is the tallest one I'm lovin' the last one with the crazy flame job . The S-10 does make a great donor since parts are available anywhere and they're dirt cheap compared to other cars. Can't wait to see this one come together

Decided to lop off some frame last night and make some filler plates to weld on. I just need to drill some holes and weld some nuts to the back of them for "I might have a bumper one day possibilities."

Well not exactly, Soon though. I have been doing some busy work on the body which was blasted 2 years ago (long story) and was sprayed with etch primer but even that will flash over time. See the rust in the front wheel well?

Gone/Converted, (I know people have mixed feelings on rust converters but, Sh*& works for me...)

I did pick these up:

And finished cleaning up and primed the front half...

October 1st, everyone's favorite uncle is giving me a few extra $grand$ so progress will be made after I get a few things... 4-link, new steering components, motor mounts, re-locate trans mount and few others.
After that, Body goes back on for some fitment concerns, like that ugly front angle bracket.
Back off to run lines (air/brake), then Take it all completely apart and paint the frame, and the bottom of the body.
Put the body back on for final lineup and panel straightening, off to paint.
On the road before X-mas!
