I added another S series truck to my collection

I got a winter truck of my own now, no more driving dads astro van or suburban. I love it.

It's a 1999 Bravada, 138,000 miles, heated seats, steering wheel radio controls, etc. Clean body, shiny paint, the frame is all nice and black with factory undercoating still.

No plans as of yet, maybe a radio someday. yeah, its a stock truck. im not expecting this thread to get big lol. I now own a '99 Blazer and a '99 Bravada.

Re: I added another S series truck to my collection

Nice addition. Now you can just go ahead and yank out the seats and send them to me. You don't really want those leather seats you just think you do. lol I've been trying to find a good set of leather buckets since i got my truck in May of 08! Looks good though, btw why does it register 120 mph when all of the others register 100?

Re: I added another S series truck to my collection

Yeah, i was excited about the double din too, I wasnt expecting it for a '99. I definitely want navi for it.

Lol about the seats. I came across a set at the junkyard this spring of 09 in PERFECT shape and got the pair for $85 (which are in my blazer) and they're in better shape than these. I dont know why the speedo goes up higher, the cluster is styled different than gmc and chevy trucks..

And this truck has brand new tires and brakes, and the entire front hubs were new last year when he said the awd wasnt kicking in. got it for $1,000-$1,500 less than what other comparable bravadas were going for on craigslist. I paid $3k for it.

Thanks guys. Yeah, its better than the other one but the mini project would have been fun. This thing is sooo comfortable to drive, and nothing rattles either, lol.

If I remember correctly the plugs on the back are different, you could probably rewire them but they are not a plug and play.
Nice Bravo, the speedos always read higher on the Bravadas, even the first gens....

The bumper is out of alignment, your roof rack looks crappy especially the peeling paint, and nice door dings. Also is there a chunk of pinstripe missing on the p.s. fender?

The heater box is also different, along with wiring and everything else...that's if you're talking about doing the auto climate control though.

Lol at the fuel pump jokes. Actually, the previous owner did say the gas gauge goes a little goofy when it gets around half tank, but its still full right now so I havent seen it yet.

Also you only had one truck before, so you were not adding to a collection per say, more or less starting a collection.

Nice find on the Bravada. Keep us updated on it.

I almost bought one a couple months ago for about the same price, but I was scared of the AWD components going bad and eventually needing replaced.

It would be a pain to get the climate control HVAC stuff to work in another S-series and it would involve a large chunk of bravada wiring and brain boxes. However on the Cheap you can just swap out the knobs on the stock hvac control with the Bravada knobs. They fit exactly the same as the stock ones and look 1000x better. I know for a fact they fit because I have them in my truck.

Re: I added another S series truck to my collection

Did a few things to the truck, nothing to make it look or work differently though, just some fixes.

It was leaking oil like crazy so I changed the intake gaskets. that was actually a pretty fun job. then I got a new rear wiper motor because it didnt work and some other misc stuff.

Close up of where it was leaking, back on the left of the silicone.

Working on tall trucks sucks.
