Hombre is gone, so in its place...

I got this:

'91 300zx 2+2, N/A, 5 speed, Dark Charcoal metallic(looks black), tan cloth interior, t-tops, all power, a/c heat ect. staggered 20" Stern wheels (20x8.5 fronts, 20x9.5 rears), lowered with Tokico springs and adjustable shocks all around, Stillen front bumper, Stillen polished intake, Stillen stainless cat-back exhaust, MB Quart components. it is an absolute blast to drive. the acceleration and braking are fun, and the handling is unbeleiveable. I have yet to find a corner that I cant take at a scary fast speed. plus its a nice change going from a regular cab no options truck, to something with more room, power accessories and a/c and heat. I'm going to leave it like it is, fix some of the little stuff that it needs, like painting the bumper, and the dent in the quarter panel. but for the most part I'm just going to drive it and enjoy it. I'm about to buy a '66 c-10 for a project, so that will get the fun stuff done to it, rockered on 22's for that one. this one will be a nice daily though. I love the looks and performance of the car, and think I didnt get too bad of a deal. has a lot of potential with just some minor things. what do you guys think?

Re: Hombre is gone, so in its place...

yeah, I had alot into the Isuzu and it was tough to watch someone drive off in all my hard work, but I was bored with it and ready for a new project. I've been wanting to build an old c-10 forever now, but couldnt stop working on my truck long enough to build one. plus, if I ever decide to, I should have as hard of time selling this car as I did the truck. I found out just ho wlimited of market there is for them. I happened upon this car, the guy was looking specifically for a bagged truck, and I have always loved these cars, so it all worked out.

Nice upgrade, I am not a huge fan of the front bumper but the wheels I am a fan of and of course I like Nissans. How does that Stillen exhaust sound?

Re: Hombre is gone, so in its place...

thanks guys. yeah the rims from some angles look too big, but others look right on. they fill out the wheel wells nicely, and give it that nice euro/high end import look, which is what I love. I was actually looking for an M3 or something similar when I found this car. and most of these were twin turbo, mine isnt. it's the rarer N/A model. which from what I hear are much more reliable, and much better on gas. but the power difference always leaves something to be desired. and the exhaust on this thing sounds sooo damn good. low rpm has a nice deep rumble, almost v-8 sounding. but when you rev it it has that nice crisp, high rpm euro sound. I love it. and on the bumper, I'm going to paint it and decide if I'm going to keep it or not. I want to see how it flows with the car once its painted. if it looks too ricey, I'll sell it and get another one, but its one of those things I'll have to see. oh and on the wheels, I'll have to get a pic. the lip on the rear rims is HUGE, like 3.5". I'm planning on re-wrapping some of the interior panels in black suede as well. to replace some of the old worn material, and to help tie the color of the outside in with the interior. I'm looking forward to getting into some auto-x and roadcourse racing with it sometime in the near future. nothing serious, just looks like it would be fun to try

Most of these cars were actually naturally aspirated. Over the 7 year span of production, there were almost four times as many N/A's as there were twin turbos, at just over 67k N/A's and 18k turbos.

Looks like a fun car though..

looks good man. i have a 90 twin turbo i'm selling. they are nice cars, but very expensive to work on. but they're so much fun to drive. i would keep the front bumper, it's one of the only ones that look good on z32's. have fun with it.

Re: Hombre is gone, so in its place...

ok got a little updated on it today. I got the locked up clutch fan off, and swapped in a set of dual e-fans. the difference is unbeleiveable. the car feels more like I expected it to now. also tidyed up some wiring under the hood, replaced a corroded and nasty battery terminal, new plugs, fixed the broken shifter mount, and finally pulled the front bumper and stripped it and repaired all the cracks and put it in primer. get painted and back on the car tomorrow. also started stripping the vinyl that was peeling off the interior panels. going to pick up some suede tomorrow and start recovering it over the weekend. I'll get more pics when these projects are completed

oh another soon to be addition, 8k HID's in the low beams (factory projectors FTW!) and 4k's in the fogs for that euro look
