Did You buy the o.g. SS mirrors, or the ebay generics?

And F-you for having time and money to send it off for real paint instead of rattle canning it like the rest of us!

I bought the real mirrors. The body shop I bring my trucks to quoted me $75 to paint them so I don't think thats too bad of a deal.

Also ordered up a new 12'' FI Q subwoofer. I'll most likely send my SSD back to have them re-cone it and then sell it to make some of the money back.

We had a problem with someone with a studded track going accross our driveway and leaving marks so the next summer me and my dad put the rocks on both sides. When the snow comes we put up markers to show that something is there. Nobody has hit them yet, but it would be funny.

The driveway is nice. We just had it re-surfaced a month ago so it looks super nice now.

Re: Here I go again

Not much of an update but I got my 12'' FI Q to replace my blown FI SSD. I have it wired down to 1 ohm so I can put out approx 1200RMS at it if I want. It wont see that much but it should be right around 1000RMS. It sounds better then the SSD and has better response wich I really like.

Here are some pics.

The new Q on the left the old SSD on the right.

Re: Here I go again

Haha

Its in the same sealed enclosure I had for the SSD. The air space fell within the specs for the Q also which is good because I like this one.

Re: Here I go again

you should build a vented enclosure for the Q man. that thing will do some damage even with just 1000rms

Yeah I have been kicking around a few design ideas. I really want to go ported with the Q but for now the sealed enclosure will do just fine.

Re: Here I go again

go on youtube and look for 12" Fi Q. there are some ported ones that pop up. those things pound. i was thinking of doing 2 12" Q's when i get to the point where i overhaul my sound system. bags are up with bodywork/paint on deck, and the system is still on the bench.

yup, after staring at your truck for a total of 24 hrs on the road... i think it is perfect. DO NOT get a roll pan, keep the bumper but do anything else you want.

heres my pics

Re: Here I go again

So....... what is the drop on your truck and what parts did you use? My truck looks just like yours but mine has the factory ZQ8 package/rims. I have been thinking about painting the factory mirrors, your looks great.

Re: Here I go again

Its a 2/3 drop on top of the ZQ8. I used Belltech spindles and and JTR conversions blocks w/shims. I would Recommend buying SS mirrors and painting them VS painting the "dumbo mirrors". LOL its all personal preference.

Re: Here I go again

Thanks man. Yeah I love the Irocs. I get comments from all sorts of people on them different places. I didnt really expect that. If I didnt get such a good deal on the 18s from a guy I know I would have got 20s tho. I love the way 20s fill the wheel well on lowered s-series trucks.
