So I went back and talked to a guy at the junkyards about that Hombre sheet metal... ended up paying $600 for the bed, tail gate, tail lights, rear bumper, hood, fenders, grille, front bumper, headlights, and core support

Re: Bodydropped 99 s-10/hombre
So got a couple of questions. How much tranny fluid do the 5 speeds take? And where does everyone put their temp probes for the fan controler? I've got mine shoved in the wrap stuff around the upper tube goin into the rad?

Re: Bodydropped 99 s-10/hombre
Yeah I didnt relieze it got that close until I watched the vid, I was like o shit. I try and avoid it in this thing when possible since its all molded.
Valves and lines are all 1/2", but I'm just taping the switches most of the time to drop it and I have drilled out plugs in the drop valves to even it out and slow it way down. To lift I have to shot a little air to it so I dont dig either the front or rear into the ground, kinda a pain in the ass |

Re: Bodydropped 99 s-10/hombre
Alright I've got it up for sale for a few reasons, the main one being I want to build a truck up for myself, second, a few years back I got into a car wrech and messed up my left foot pretty good, got a sweet limp and all and it just sucks driving the 5 speed for long periods of time and then not being able to walk
. So my loss your gain check out the add http://www.s10forum.com/classifieds/...?product=50750. |

Re: Bodydropped 99 s-10/hombre
Well I screwed up leaving SOL 3 this weekend and about took off my cali combo, and caved in the drivers bed side, all after I hit the link bars on Jakes lifted fullsize. It was a very shitty weekend for the truck, but I did take home a top 20 mig.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dont know if i'm goin to repair it, rebuild it, or still trade it off. It really sucks cause I had a trade worked out with a killer blazer. |

Re: Bodydropped 99 s-10/hombre
Well the guy with the blazer is still considering the trade, so if he still wants it i'll trade it off as is. If he doesnt want it anymore i'm goin to take the bed off and run it for awhile while I fix up another bed. If you seen how much filler was in just the bed corner you woudl know why I opting for a new bed. But i'm also goin to go through and just redo alot fo the truck.

Re: Bodydropped 99 s-10/hombre
That sucks ass man. But if your up for the drive. There is a hombre bed in jakson michigan. Thats where i got my front clip. It had like no dents, just a little rust over the arches.
But its a nice starting point if your up for it. He wanted like 200 for it. |

If you use an S-10 bed, are you going to extend the wheel lips on your front fenders so they will match the bed?

Re: Bodydropped 99 s-10/hombre
I was thinking of just making a pair of s-10 fenders fit the hombres lights. I was comparing the hombre to my blazer and doesnt look like it would be to bad.
On 9k crazys note tho i'll be making a road trip to bismark tomorrow to check out an hombre. Theres is the one right on the train tracks right? |

Re: Bodydropped 99 s-10/hombre
Well I've had it for sale for awhile now, before I screwed up the cali combo. I just want to start something that I did, gets kinda old having to explain the history of the truck I didnt build, even tho I fixed alot of stuff, people still see the flashy stuff I didnt do. Then i'm tryin to get away from the 5 speeds, had a few foot surgerys back in the day, and it dont like the clutch. Lastly I want anotehr ex-cab like my 1st s-10 was.

Re: Bodydropped 99 s-10/hombre
haha, yeah that got me pretty ticked, casue that friday night I had worked out a trade with a nice blazer from tenn I think. I was goin to meet him the next weekend. Then I hit those link bars and was pissed. I called with guy with the blazer and explained, he was still all for it. Then the next day I damn new take off the cali combo, so I had to call him again, he didnt take it after that haha.
Were you at the show? My pics arn't on this comp so I cant run though them to see if I got your truck. |
