Re: 4 Door Blazer Xtreme Conversion

If you're still looking at putting the fender flares on the back doors then you may want to get some cladding off of a bravada. I was at a junkyard last week and they have the molding and some flares built onto them, they're a little different from the xtremes, but you could graft them together.

Just an idea.

I didn't mean use the entire cladding, I meant you could use the part of the cladding that has the flare and screws to the door and goes from the fender to the door and then use the xtreme flare for the outside then glass them together. You'd really kinda have to be looking at it with me showing you to get what I'm talking about, but I think that'd be the easier route to go and when it's all done it'd look just like an xtreme still

Why not just get extended cab Xtreme rocker extensions and mold them together?

Re: 4 Door Blazer Xtreme Conversion

UPDATES

i got the the wrecked 2001 blazer xtreme engine and tranny in my 2001 4 door blazer everything is a go.
at first i had a hard time trying to start it, and it would not start because of the factory installed security system called passlock.

what i did after 3 hours of trying to start it. i reprogrammed all the codes. and it started right up. duh

what i did was put everything from the wrecked 2001 blazer xtreme into my 2001 4 door blazer
everything from the spoilers, grill, fog lights, engine, tranny, harness, ignition key, column wich i also made into a tilt column with cruise control too, ECM, BCM, fog light harness, guage cluster.

i also sent out the 2001 blazer xtreme title to be made a parts only title. this way i dont get into any trouble with the law lol. kiss my @$?

everything is working sunroof and power windows working, onstar also working.
as of now everything is done just need to get the console in wich fitted perfect and the seats back in, then i'll get it cleaned up and detailed
i dont have pics right now but as soon as it take some more i'll post them...

Re: 4 Door Blazer Xtreme Conversion

more updates
after the 3 hours of trying to start the engine, i forgot to prime the engine for oil to lubricate, and guess what happened. almost all of the piston rod bearings got all messed up, no oil there. i guess that from the engine cranking on a starter it dosent make enougth oil pressure. when i got it started after a while i noticed some really bad internal vibrations coming from the engine.
ohhhh well i took the engine out last week, and now i have the original 156,000 mile engine in it wich was the original from this truck. i took of the old oil pump and replaced it wich a high volume oil pump, with a steel shaft and guide. new timing set, took off the flexplate added a new pilot bearing PN ct1081 installed the flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate, a few freeze out plugs replaced, new rear main seal, new radiator, new oil cooler lines, and a bunch of other new stuff i still havent received yet.
this baby has to last me years to come.
i'll post some pics of it tomorrow.

i found out what messed up my other 4.3l engine and it was the dam flywheel i sent it out to get resurfaced and they f it up.
so i went on summitracing bought a new centerforce flywheel and all the engine vibrations are gone now. amazing....

well yeah... but the xtreme blazers were all 2 door. The only side skirts that would fit are aftermarket, unless he wanted to graft 2 side skirts together or something

Re: 4 Door Blazer Xtreme Conversion

man if i tell you, you wont believe me.
all it took was alot of patience and alot of walking away from this project lol.
but nahh it aint take much since i had both trucks and they both where the same year.
i had to take the dash out, cut the hole in the firewall, install clutch master, install the footpedal for the clutch, put dash back on. remove engine harness and ecm from the automatic to swap the 5 speed engine harness with the 5 speed ecm, then do the passlock reset, thats only if your switching columns with i did also. it is alot of work. but now i know how to do it this time if i do it again it will be way much more easier. i think i can do this again in less than 2 weeks maybe 1 week if i get really dedicated.

this is my second 4 door blazer i've converted to a manual tranny, my other conversion is a 1999 4 door blazer getting a 2007 cadilac escalade 6.2L v8 engine with a brand new dodge viper t-56 6 speed tranny, and a nice 8.5 inch rear end posi. i went all out on this one. if you want to see the thread here's the link to it.

get your napkin ready your gonna drull on this one

If your not sure what to do for side skirts yet, the 4dr S10 Trail Blazer came stock with them.
Although they aren't like the xtremes side skirts they are skirts with come down even to with the front valance.

Here is the vin # of a 2000 4dr S10 Trail Blazer if you need.
