Re: 1985 s15 - baby blue

yeah
and by the way it runs, you woudlnt expect that either. 1 pump start, idles smooth, no hesitations. im just gonna run it to the ground, once this engines dies, im gonna stick a 3.4 in it

Re: 1985 s15 - baby blue

Just over 200,000 miles isn't too bad, still got life to it.

BTW, nice choice in tail lights, clean and subtile.

Re: 1985 s15 - baby blue

stop and go on the freeway, going about 40k (i was)
stopped, the guy behind me wasnt paying attention and hit me, but i think he was going a lot faster than 40
need:
new bumper and tailgate of corse
box needs to be alighned
frame neds to be checked out
cab back wall has a pretty big dent, cab seam is ripped open

as for plans after the fix, looking for a 4/5 drop, then paint. probably keep it the same color, just touch it up. i havent seen many others out there with this color

Re: 1985 s15 - baby blue

insurance will pay for the repairs
the guy said because of the work ive done and based on how good its running, he said it woudl be a shame for it to be wrecked from something like that. frame is perfect, so that lowers the estimate damage by a lot

Re: 1985 s15 - baby blue

the original body shop i was going to was a ****up
they quoted me $1500 to fix the truck originally
get the money from insurance, and all of a sudden its $3500-$4000 to fix
so i said i would fix it myself, and asked about paint
they said it would be close to $10,000 because my truck needs a lot of work on it. went to another shop and they wanted $7500 to paint it as well. all that really needs to be done is some body work on the bed (rust), hood needs to be stripped (it was spray bombed) and some little rust spots that are scattared around
