Whats would be a good way to test the vacuum reservoir
And if it leaking would that cuase my heater vent not to close all the way? Seems to be blowing warm air except when I'm giving it full throttle
The vacuum reservoir supplies stored vacuum when the engine vacuum is low, as in WOT. If you have a vacuum leak in the system, it will likely result in what you are experiencing.
To test just the reservoir disconnect the hose and apply a vacuum pump to the reservoir and watch the gauge to see if it drops indicating a leak.
To test the whole system at once disconnect the vacuum hose at the engine, don't know where that is on a 2.2, and apply vacuum to the hose, watch the gauge indicating a leak.
Often the hose passing through the firewall cracks or is not fully attached. Inside next to the gas pedal near the tunnel. You can also apply vacuum to the section of hose that goes to the HVAC at that point.
Thanks
Found out the vacuum line wasnt even hooked up to the vacuum reservoir
Hooked it up, did a vacuum test and seems good
But now it blows warm air out the heater vent
When I switch to center vents it blows just cool out side air
when I switch it back to lower vents it blows warm air
Unless Im giving it full throttle
Any ideas here?
Well I cant really tell if its doing it with AC running
It gets mighty cold
But with out air on
It does blow warm air out lower vents
Seems strange that on center vents it does not
Any one with any ideas?
Yes thanks
Well everything under there is working fine
And found in the engine compartment where you can
see the flapper and that is also working
Now Im really confused
I have no idea why when blowing out the floor vents it still blows warm air
switch it to center vents and it blows out side cool air
Its almost like the is a small electric heater running
Or a lot of engine heat is coming up through floor board
Any one with any ideas?
You should find your answer to your problem in the "stickie" at the top of the page in this heating & a.c. forum. "Hot feet fix"!!! I'm pretty sure that's your problem.
