cause that list is for S-Series Trucks, if he was to add a ranger section, it would either be "ranger" or "ford" where as your car stands in its category too

Re: Post Your 1/4 Times Here!
hey, I noticed some of you where asking about Lilscreamers truck.
Well, he doesnt have a web service at the moment so, S10forum rules are, you must have a valid email address, so his account is suspended at the moment. anyway, his truck runs 2.2 60ft. Hooks every time with the BFG's. We are hoping to improve that with the converter we installed recently, we will be testing it this weekend if the weather lets us. Nitrous kit is also installed. Should see some good numbers if it hooks. His combo is a 91 4.3 600 holley, edelbrick intake, 229 heads , pocket ported 1.94 1.5 valves, compcams 280hr, roller tip rocker, headman headers 3.42 gear. |

Nice reaction time and pretty good 60' mark. Thats a good time for the mph. I'm running at 89mph, i dumped my tires to 20psi, next time im leaving them normal and hopefully i will see a 90.

Re: Post Your 1/4 Times Here!
Went to the track tonite, tried out my BFG DR's, I'm not too impressed with them. Traction was similar to my street tires and every time I hit second gear it would skip sideways. Best 60' was 2.05. Second round of eliminations, the tires broke loose and 60' dropped to 2.140, dial was 14.18 and I ran a 14.28 due to loss of traction (lost the race by .0628). ET's would have been quicker but I didn't re-jet because I didn't want to break 13.99 (no helmet). I thought that the DR's would hook better than that, time to put the big slicks on, too hard to dial when 60's are inconsistent.

Re: Post Your 1/4 Times Here!
i've heard that the BFG's hook better than even the regular M/T slicks.
I'm quite surprised at how well my new tires hook on the track, I got Falken Ze-326's and had them siped when i bought them. |

Re: Post Your 1/4 Times Here!
I had good luck with BFG DR's on my old camaro but I think it transfered the weight better than my S10 does. I have a set of 27x10 Goodyear stock car slicks that should do the trick, as soon as I can find (afford) wheels to mount them (I need a 15x10 wheel with no more than 4.5" of backspacing). The other option may be to pull the overload leaf, I'm not sure how much this single mod helps traction though.

Re: Post Your 1/4 Times Here!
[quote=Navecm]mpetess10, the reason it sounds to good to be true, is because it is too good, take that weight of you, and minus the weight of the gas (i think gas is something like 6.3 lbs a gallon, i think), and chances are that scale isnt calibrated based off what other people have said their trucks weigh, that would put your truck at 3550 about, and others with similar trucks are coming in 100-200lbs lighter. just a thought.
well I agree with you what you said until you get to the uncalibrated scale part I went to the local truck stop and weighed it on a "cat" certifed scale cat stands for "Certifeid Automated Truck scale" cat sends out representatives to each scale on a set time basis and checks it to make sure its accurate it is meant for tractor trailers to weigh themselves so it has to be accurate for DOT purposes it says right on the scale paperwork that is issued when you use the scale "cat scale company guaruntees that ourr scales will give an accurate weight" it also states on the ticket "this is to certify that the following described merchandise was weighed, counted, or measured by a public or deputy weighmaster, and when properly signed and sealed shall be prima facia evidence of the accuracy of the weight shown as prescribed by law if I were a trucker and got an overweight ticket after using one of theyre scales they would immediately check the scale for accuracy and either A: reimburse me for the cost of the overweight fine if their scale was wrong or B: a representative of CAT scale company will appear in court WITH the driver as an expert witness if they belive their was correct so I am fairly sure that the scale I used was pretty accurate also dont forget that I do have an EX cab so maybe your confusing my weight with those of reg cabs and thast why I weigh 200lbs more also about 2 years ago a friend of mine used this same scale to weigh his 98 ex cab V6 fleetside truck and his truck came in at right around 4000lbs as well although I cant remember the exact weight here is a link if you wish to read theyre accuracy claims www.catscale.com |

Re: Post Your 1/4 Times Here!
well you've seen the various weight threads in the past, in fact i think i remember you posting in one not too far back, anyway its just intresting that people are getting numbers from 3100-4100 with all the different configurations, and even getting noticebly different weights with the same configuration, go figure

Re: Post Your 1/4 Times Here!
yea I agree
it is kinda weird how much of a variance there is and I think that part of it might be inaccurate scales but I am fairly sure that the one I went to is pretty accurate because it has to be for business purposes and the results can be used as evidnece in a court case so I am pretty sure they keep things in pretty good shape on a side note I went to another more reputable hp calculator adn put in the numbers there and it said I was putting 169 hp to the rear wheels and was putting out 211 at the crank that seems a little more accurate and more realistic and seems pretty much inline with the guys with the ranger's numbers that he has in his sig 15.6 178 hp so that seems pretty similar |

Re: Post Your 1/4 Times Here!
Yeah, there seems to be a lot of variance among the different 1/4 mi to hp estimation formulas. I'd like to see a couple of dyno sheets and also time slips on the same vehicle to make a decent comparison. On a side note one of the contributing factors to my PU's low weight is all the rust - lol.

thats because hes being some type of clown and wants you to click in his gallery to look for pictures of his slips instead of taking the .2 seconds it takes to type one of them out.

#1 they are horrid pictures
#2 most people have enough common sense to post it in the body of the text or at least have the time in the sig and you are right mintsick so here is #3 post your 1/4 mile times, not 1/8 mile times, so yes all and all a huge clown. |

hey guys, sitting at home sick, figured I'd post.
ran down at rockingham dragstrip, was pretty hot and humid. best time was 13.448 @ 100.6 w/ 1.96 60' not the best time i'd hope to get, but at least i know what it's capable of. 89 ext cab, lt1 - lt4 conversion, 4l60-e, ran completely wore out 28x10.5 mickey t e/t streets. noticed cord was showing on one of them when i put it back on the trailer. |

Re: Post Your 1/4 Times Here!
Just got home from the dragstrip, ran in a trophy race - made it to semi-finals (3 cars left) and broke out by .003 sec. Had a good night overall, cut a load of .50x lights. One of the test runs I got to race a new GTO - it only ran a 14.975@94.70mph (with a crummy 2.351 60'). Somehow I thought it would be faster, although everyone's cars were running slower than normal tonite (weather), my best ET was 14.28@95.71.
