Ever get owned when racing?

Just wondering what sort of things have happened to you guys when racing someone at a light.

Well, a couple weeks ago, i was driving my fullsize (89' Chev 1500) and this civic flew past me, so at the next light, i pulled up beside him, and he started reving his motor up, so i started a nice smokey for him. Well, the light turned green and i took off, i hit 2nd and it felt really wierd, then went to hit 3rd, and nothin! My shifter was loose and i couldnt get a gear! So the civic took off and i was at the side of the road

. Just though i'd share.

One time in my Grand Am I raced an old Eclipse. I figured it was probably a turbo but the thing was in such shitty shape I figured I could get him. Well, needless to say I got owned and then he owned my friend in his Grand Prix GTP.

The other day I raced my friends modded GTP (same guy from story above) in my 2.2 w/5-speed. His mods are smaller supercharger pully, chip, intake, exhaust work, and a BROKEN SUPERCHARGER BELT. He said with it broken that it was the slowest thing he had drive. Well lets just say that up to 60 my 2.2 is about 3 car lengths slower and he was still pulling.

My final story was way back when I first got into cars. My first car was a 1990 Grand Prix SE and I had a friend who was driving his dad's 1994 (I think that was the year) Silverado 2WD with the 350 Vortec. Well I knew my Grand Prix wasn't fast and I figured it was a truck so we raced. I learned first hand that 350 Vortec = Fast! That truck also beat a 2000 Grand Prix GT and barely lost to whatever year Mustang it was that had the last 5.0. I think a 94 or 95. When I first got my Grand Am he tied me but then I learned how to launched and beat him pretty good.

It is funny how it never gets old isn't it, i never had a problem with losing, I just race for fun. On the other hand, my 98 4.3L 5sp got pwned by a FD RX7.....I thought it was a n/a and decided to race him. First, my mods are flowmaster exhaust, custom y-pipe, backyard k&n intake, hypertech tuning, 4.10 gears, and slightly smaller tires.....lol. He apparently had a single turbo, and a dyno sheet of around 280rwhp, and he said he had it set for low boost when we raced. OK, the light changed and we take off, I have a slight lead on him....and then I hear a f*cking turbo start spooling.....I just think to myself....sh*t, I don't have the nitro bottle in here! But anyways, to make a long story short, I stayed a few car lengths back until about 70 then I let off to keep from bottoming out on the on ramp to eichoff road. Pretty much learned not to mess around with turbo rotarys....I doubt I would have gotten him even with the bottle

. Also, I pwned some guy in a 99-00 v6 5sp mustang......with my sister's 01 focus at.....lol, they tossed a cup at the car and 911's dispatch told me to pursue until law enforcement picked them up. They shut down at 110, for some reason the focus pused it's way past 115....lol.

i love acting like im gonna race all the ricers and then just sittin there and watching them race off. its the best when they burn up tires, break stuff, get a ticket, and im just rollin purdy

with the v8 im sure ull get a lot of people wanting to race. see with me its a little diff, these little fags drive up and see a nice car or truck and instantly assume the size of my balls is calculated by how many races ive won.... soooo i just give em 5 grand on the 2.2 (sounds really mean with a crushed downpipe by the way) so their assholes pucker and maybe a switch or 2 (this gets em really riled up) 3,2,1 green and off they go lol.

Got smoked the other day by a '93 Integra GS-R...but the car skid the first 4 gears and sounded pretty loaded...just whipped him by 1/2 car in my 1st and 2nd gears BUT then it basically FLEW right past me...damn...
I asked the guy if I could have a peek at his engine and he had chrome headers, msd ignition, stabilizers, mod chip, iceman intake, flowmaster, pulleys, cams, you name it...
He said to me he's making 13.8 in the 1/4, which I believe him 'cause it ****ed my blazer...

Can't wait to receive my FIPK and to have some extra dough to buy my JBA headers, custom y-pipe and msd ignition and coil to kick any freaking guy in any freaking integra...

I'm not proud to say this, but I almost got my ass stomped by a Turbo Pt Cruiser.....beat him of course. Probably just wanted to see what I had because of my flowmasters. Fockin PT kept up though....

Those turbo PT's have some pull. My friend's dad has one and we took it out one night and that thing pulls hard from a roll. He would punch it from 30 and the thing would pull him every which way. I believe it's the SRT-4 motor so no shame in having a good run with one of those. What all do you have to your truck?

got smoked by a high 10 low 11 sec supercharged 5.0 on the freeway.... he followed me off my exit and complemented my truck. i couldnt believe how crazy it was when he blew by me because my truck is pretty fast.

I've been driving a 4 cyl. toyota pickup since my (V8) s10 got totalled and last nite I got smoked by an old man driving a ford focus wagon.
A couple of times in the last two weeks I thought I was spinning a tire in snow/ice but the truck is just that gutless.

I never thought the PT turbos were that fast. I would guess they run low/mid 15's based on my past experience (never seen one at the dragstrip but I have beaten a couple in my s10). They run well on a roll but are pretty worthless off the line.

in my blazer (75 shot 2wd, intake, tb spacer, pullies) and i pulled up next to a grandma in a WS6 T/A....... it had exhaust and i thought this was to good to be true on top of the fact that it was manual.... (she had to be 60+ years old...) so purge it to get her attention and she revs to my surprise- I KNOW i cant take a ws6 but i thought "she's gonna miss second anyways...." well light turns green and that bitch is GONE!!!!!!! i felt so f'n stupid but hey i lost to a fast car, and to the most badass grandma ever...

i got owned in my dads 05 i5 colorado racing a civic hatch. my dads truck has aem brute force intake and magnaflow exhaust. the honda had the usual loud exhaust. so i pulled next to him and shook my head at him but as usual washington it was pooring so when i punched it i broke the tires loose and got a side ways so i let off and tried to ease it in but it would hold and he was already pulling a head. darn front wheel drives. they can drive straight even when its wet. i think i would have taken him if it wasnt wet.

I got my friend pulled over racing him in his 01 Mustang GT. Got him at the light and about halfway in the intersection I saw something in the corner of my eye so I let off and he kept going. It was a cop coming around the corner and nailed him. I just cruised by slowly. HAHAHA

I don't race alot, mainly the only people that want to race me is ricers which can get unchallenging. I start off normal, and hear their engine screaming or some shit just to keep up.

I have revved a viper with a Dodge turbo cummins diesel, mainly just to hear the exhaust and see the take off.

I raced a 56 Chevy pickup before.. It was blown, tubbed with drag slicks had a parachute, full custom drag truck.. I just wanted to see it launch so I racked em' in my s-10 at a light, it launched where it almost took the front tires off the ground and it didn't sound like he even tried too hard. Lost me in the dust though.

I was pulling away from a light when i see this rx8 coming up behind me so i start to accerlat a little more and get into third doing about 40 when he pulls up next to me and we both punch it i down shift into 2nd auto tranny and start gaining on him not for long though and were coming up on 90 which that was before i had the power programmer meaning a topped out at 96 luckliy he had a car in his lane or i would have gotten my ass kick

Back in 2000 I had a modded CRX. Typical rims, lowering kit, tints, intake and exhaust. It was very slow, but you still try to win sometimes. Well I came up to a red stop light going 35 mph and there was a LT1 Camaro at a stop. The light turned green, I threw it into 2nd and gunned it. He literally caught up to me in 2 seconds tops even though I had a 35 mph head start on him. A few months later the CRX was gone and I got my Z28. In the Z28 I've beaten my buddy LS1's and LT1's. Though I did get manhandled by a modded 3000GT and a head/cammed 5.0L Mustang. THat's about it.

Stock RX7's make 220-230rwhp.

are about 2700 - 2800lbs stock

All of the 93+ are twin turbo'd from the factory.

all manual ones come with 4.10 diff

There are factory upgrades to a 4.33 and some have even used 4.77

ok i have a 98 ls 2.2 mostly stock me an my freind in his 03 impala v6 bone stock anyway we pull up to the light we take off i pull out bout a half car lenght then i hit 2nd he barly starts gaining then i hit 3rd then where about even then i hit 4th an he pulls ahead to beat me my front end was about his door we was raceing from red light to red light so im not exactly sure how far we was raceing i know it was like 2 and a half blocks though

No such thing, any impala would destroy a 2.2 truck, 3.4L or 3.8L and it would be in the lead from the very start as well.

lol, that's great i agree.. i've driven the impala's and they would blow by like it's nothing, hell almost any v6 any pretty dang much any vehicle that's running good will beat a 2.2 s10. If your friend was a bad driver than it would help him to have an auto, my grandma could beat your ass in a impala if you were in a 2.2, it's just fact.

But just for the sake of i don't want to argue anymore.. Really wow you almost beat an impala in a 2.2! that's great good driving man!!

Got smoked the other day by a '93 Integra GS-R...but the car skid the first 4 gears and sounded pretty loaded...just whipped him by 1/2 car in my 1st and 2nd gears BUT then it basically FLEW right past me...damn... I asked the guy if I could have a peek at his engine and he had chrome headers, msd ignition, stabilizers, mod chip, iceman intake, flowmaster, pulleys, cams, you name it... He said to me he's making 13.8 in the 1/4, which I believe him 'cause it ****ed my blazer... Can't wait to receive my FIPK and to have some extra dough to buy my JBA headers, custom y-pipe and msd ignition and coil to kick any freaking guy in any freaking integra...

My friend's dad has one and we took it out one night and that thing pulls hard from a roll. He would punch it from 30 and the thing would pull him every which way. I've been driving a 4 cyl. toyota pickup since my (V8) s10 got totalled and last nite I got smoked by an old man driving a ford focus wagon. A couple of times in the last two weeks I thought I was spinning a tire in snow/ice but the truck is just that gutless. I never thought the PT turbos were that fast. I would guess they run low/mid 15's based on my past experience (never seen one at the dragstrip but I have beaten a couple in my s10). They run well on a roll but are pretty worthless off the line.

I don't race alot, mainly the only people that want to race me is ricers which can get unchallenging. I start off normal, and hear their engine screaming or some shit just to keep up.
