bora vr6 jetta
a friend of mines brother has a nice "bora"? vr6 jetta. he lets his brother drive it often, being itsnot his only car. Anywas i ran into him driving, followed him an he pulled off in a parking lot where he showed me his bros car. I has a intake catback and nos. Also had 18s, looked real good.
I asked him to race... "ill smoke you" i agreed. It went something like this.... i did a little burn out and we line up. I honk 3 times and were off. I pulled almost a full car length right off the line. Had a great launch 1500rpm dump, next to no spinning. I caught second before him. He hit second and fell back a nose. of course i miss 3rd..... must have been to excited. according to him he wasnt all the way on it cuzhis gf said not too. I also had a passenger. |

Re: bora vr6 jetta
That is what a Jetta is called in Germany "BORA". They did not make them with that emblem, there is no such thing as a German edition Jetta in the states....
and the reason I know these things is I work at a VW dealer, and my Parts Manager is a VW FREAK, and her hubby is also....Thats all they own....and will ever own ! |

Re: bora vr6 jetta
do you have any mods? i just recently bought a turbo gti and i know that it'll beat a 4.3 even though its stock. if it was completely stock, depending on the year, it would have had either 174 or 200 hp. my car runs mid to low 15's stock, so the vr6 should run high 14's or low 15's at worst.

Re: bora vr6 jetta
im not completely stock, a few mods nothing that really matters. The vr6 was just intake and fullexhaust. As for the 1.8ts. I've got another friend with a 1.8t jetta 5spd 2001. His mods include downpipe, greddy catback, lightweight flywheel, stage2 clutch, K&N filter with a cut airbox. That little ****ers quick now. Without the flywheel and clutch it ran a 15.4. We raced before with all his current mods and when he had a catback.
With all his new mods he had a car length on me by the end of 3rd and was pulling slowly, but i imagine he would pull harder the faster we went. With just the catback i had him by more then a car, but it was sometime ago I cant really remember. His car was running 15.8s at that time. Makes me wonder if i can pull a mid/high 15 out of my truck. |

Re: bora vr6 jetta
and those times are with a "professional driver" because i'm pretty sure that i wouldn't hit 15 stock. if i can get out of work wednesday i'm gonna go to the strip to see what i can run. i need to practice launching because i suck at it. i'm hopin for mid 15's at least but i'll see how it goes. i've got roughly 85 - 95 more ponies than stock, so that should help a little if i don't roast the tires launchin
