Angry Wont start with key, will start with remote?

I have an interesting problem. I just installed a remote stater with a immobilizer bypass, DEI 555L. 2001 S10 pickup. I dont know if i have passlock 1 or 2. Now the truck wont start when I try the key, but it will start with the remote start and then I can turn the key so I can drive. What in the world could be wrong. My securtiy light is not lighting up. I put the wireing back to stock and the truck still wont start with the key. And the security light isnt staying on. So I dont know if it is going into Long tamper mode or not. Any suggestions.

does the truck crank at all when you turn the key? check to see if the starter wire is putting out 12v when the key is turned to crank

The starter wire is still intact. The truck cranks over with the key and wants to start but as soon as i stop turning the key the engine shuts off. I can drive the truck so long as i remote start it first. That is fine but what happens when my remote stops working. Thanks

how did you wire up the 555l?

is it wired constant? or does it only turn on when the remote start is engaged?
and did you use a DEI remote start?

Re: Wont start with key, will start with remote?

555L should be wired if i remember correctly on the vehicle wiring

should be yellow and black for passlock in that vehicle

555l yellow to key side of yellow in vehicle
555l blk/yel to pcm side of yellow in vehicle
555l blk to org/blk in vehicle

then wire constant, and ign as usual and status to status on the brain or an ignition negative output

Okay, I found the problem. I tore back into the wire harness. The ground reference wire was broke off. So now every thing is working just fine. Thanks for all the help.

Re: Wont start with key, will start with remote?

The wire just came loose from the cylinder side of the splice, the remote start was still hooked to the bcm side of the reference wire that I had spliced origionaly. This time it made sure it was done right, it aint going to come undone a second time. Thanks again
