Re: subs in a standard cab?
If you take out the jack you can easily fit 3 12's back there, I'm not gonna say I would suggest it, as it is one 10 can almost rattle my rear view mirror off. My 2nd 10 will be here in two or three days ill hook it up and let you know. If you had an extended cab id tell you to go all out but in a reg. cab 2 12's should be more than enough

Re: subs in a standard cab?
![]() one simple old ass JL audio 10 with an old Crossfire amp, sounds amazingly good and plays plenty loud enough for me. Custom built the box to fit without loosing any seat clicks, the red things on top the box are my rachet straps, since i use my noma as a daily and for hauling i had to make a little lip on the top of he box to hold some small stuff. 85 reg cab with two 10" in single boxes. They fit without moving the seat up, but I moved it one click for more room for the subs.

Re: subs in a standard cab?
mine? Built it. You cant buy a box that everything fits into it perfectly.
Heres the build thread: http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f27/go...inning-339813/ |

Re: subs in a standard cab?
what kind of sub. and did it rattle the mirror off of the mount or the mount off of the glass. one of those options isn't going to happen with out a really ****ing spectacular system so i call bs. |

Re: subs in a standard cab?
I would suggest running two pioneer shallow mounts if you are going with the shallow mount direction. Two of those rattle my cab pretty dang good. When I don't have a passenger I can see the fabric on the seat vibrating like a son of a bitch. Though I would suggest trying your best to stay away from shallows if you do plan on going that route the pioneer shallows are good for the price, I would go with 12"s

Re: subs in a standard cab?
Standing at 5'11" and weighing in at 220lbs in the pewter std cab..... I went with a shallow mount. dont kill/flame me but I went with the Kicker CVT and just put my Sundown to it and I have to say I am liking it.... its been about 3-4 years since I had any bass at all and that might be why Im as giddy as a schoolgirl at recess but I dont think the shallow mounts are too bad.. I wanted the JL shallow 12 but I was told they didnt send them out as something wasnt quite right with them... so the wait is on. In the meantime the Kicker really fills the void....
sorry had to edit... the Kicker is a 12 and that was the only way I would go.. Last edited by rican 25 : 07-28-2008 at 12:46 AM. |
