Re: sound system show off!!

Thanks guys and those are grills for 6.5's but i only have 5.25's under them... i had problems before with them blowin so this time when they glassed it i told them to make it so i can change to 6.5's..... They told me however they would recommend runnin a set of 5's with 6's if they are all in the doorpanels for better sound but it sounded damn good as it was... well until my brand new double din kicked the bucket on the way home lol

I know man when i went in my buddy was workin there and quoted me way less but then he went on vacation before finalizing the bill and the manager came in and said there is no way they can do it for that price blah blah... whatever i was extremely pissed but it turned out really nice... so what could i do it was already finished. the shop has been great though... like the day after i got it back my deck started actin up, and the shop was closed but was havin a tiny show and shine and the second i pulled in 3 guys started tryin to figure it out and they worked on it for an hour... never did fix it cause they would have had to start tearin into the whole truck but it was nice to see service like that.

Negative. I took a plastic cup and cut the bottom off, then glued, duct taped, and electrical taped it to the end of the port. I forgot to say I rebuilt the box and made it smaller and the port made it sound realyl bad.

Re: sound system show off!!

here's my setup, in my 90 accord. it was the first box i ever built and it was my first time messing with fiberglass and bondo, and isnt too bad if you consider that. it is a little wavy and a little big (didnt get the dimensions right for the trunk, i got exactly 3 cft inside for the subs), but i'm still pretty proud of it. 2 JL 12w0's powered by a kenwook excelon (cant remember the #) 505w amp and a JVC head unit.

i know the trim panel looks wavy there, the flash caught it and i have since fixed it.

it sounds good, not too loud, but i can still bump it. it rattles a lot, even after i rhino-lined the trunk, so i need to get some dynamat.

Re: sound system show off!!

hey loud blazer can i give you a some words of advice?

your port is too small!

i will almost bet, that if you cut the port wall out and make your box as thin as can be (within reason) on the drivers side you will be louder.

i would say from your sub baffel where you have your pvc. to the drivers side as close as you can get to the B-piller. make is 2-3 layers of mdf and put pvc on the b-piller to round it off.

but basically you need to get the driverside of the box as close to the driverside as possible! if you haven't tried it i would if i was you!

I have help a bunch of people including Brad Russell when he was competing in his ford escort and killing the compeition.

what kind of numbers are you getting by the way?

This box was built for music hence the smaller port. I use this for Bass Race. I gave up on superstreet after 2004 Finals. The port is actually angled in the box so the back of the port is all the way to the driver side. The box is not a typical square with a slot port. Before the windshield broke at Daytona I was at a 157.1 for Bass Race. It burps into the 60s @ 43Hz with all four amps hooked up
