Re: sound system show off!!

this is my first time around using a plate style speaker like this and i think the sound quality from them i much better then the sound of a oval spakers cone from a 4x6. the only thing that surprised me about them was i thought i was going to have more room in the dash to fit them in there without having to clearance the vents out but they were close enough to work.

This is my system. It`s small, but I wanted to keep the space behind the seats.

Re is is high quality stuff. I played around with some of the re sx's and they tend to get pretty loud and have rather good sound quality too.

thx, the se is nice for the little reg cab, plenty of bump for me. i do think i could've stepped it up to the sx without losing too much more room.

Re: sound system show off!!

very clean, i like it for a simple system that allows you the use of your back seat. ugh i really need to make me a new box.....ill start that endevour in a couple months. here is my current one.

My next system is going to most likely be 3 or 4 Alpine Type Rs, and 3 or 4 alpine PDX amplifiers(the sexxy stackable ones) all in some type of fiberglass setup that ill have to create

Re: sound system show off!!

You have only so much air in your cab to play with, so you cannot go too big. One amp should do all you need. What kind of sound are you looking for? If you are looking for clarity and volume consider 6x9s behind the seats and the rest of your speakers in stock locations or 6x9s behind the seats and a component system up front and in the doors. If you are going to be a basser, you can fit three 10 inch woofers or two 12 inch woofers behind the seats and ac component system, but you give up your storage space behind the seats. That's why I like the 6x9 behind the seats, it truly make a cube of sound and still gives you storage capacity. A good Brand for clarity is Boston Accoustics. If you want alot of bass, try kickers.

Re: sound system show off!!

NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CURCUMSTANCE do you want speakers behind you in a car for listening to music, nonetheless 6x9s. how natural of a sound will a oval sppeaker produce versus a circular 6.5" for example? its all about circles here, ovals just arent natural, they arent as good. 6x9s are a big no no, especially behind the driver. never worry about speakers behind you. big time misinformation posted by the other dude.

Re: sound system show off!!

That was interesting, but anyhow Xtuckin22's I see tha you siad you plan on goin with 3 or 4 type r's, good choice, i almost took the same path but i ended up with the type x's instead. I had two type R's previous to my current system, they are def. good subs, and they dont required as much power as the X's.

Re: sound system show off!!

i love the idea of the Type Xs but i was told compared to the type R they arent much better especially considering the price difference, and as you noted they are power hungry and i assume the type Xs need a lot more air space. I wanted type Xs but some fellow dB nutty friends told me the type Rs are actually better. so i dunno

Re: sound system show off!!

I think that 4 type R's set up right would be crazy, like you said for the price the R's are a better deal. I got a good deal on my X's (440 for both) so i couldnt pass them up. Plus with the stackable PDX amps, they are sick! Im sure u will come up with somethin crazy, and good luck with baggin the truck looks great so far, thats my next project so i gotta learn all I can.
