another build, i think this is #5 or 6 ive posted in here lol

... waiting to get my amp back from being repaired, should be pretty loud. i still have to make trim panels around the wall to seal it tight to the sides and roof of the cab (basically where the back side windows are).

Audioque HD3's

Autotek MM4000.1

I'll have more pics and a vid once i get the amp in

Not to be a dick, but was it really necessary for you to block the whole back window for only 2 subs?

lol no offense taken, like the others said above, cubic feet, port, LOUD

but really, these subs like 4.5 cubes net which is a lot for 15"s but they get down pretty good, so this wall is 9 cf net with 160 sq. in. port.

btw, you say "only two subs", well I'll let you sit in it one day and then you WILL be saying "thats only TWO subs"

Re: sound system show off!!

The reason said "only 2 subs" was, because as you can see I'm running 3, and they don't take up very much room. As apposed to your 2 that take up half the damn cab. lol, but I understand now why you did it that way. If nothing else, it looks kinda intimidating. lol

Re: sound system show off!!

I like his setup...

I do not think I could handle not having my back window blocked though!

That is just me, maybe if I had a show truck or something, but never on my daily.

Re: sound system show off!!

Taylor1, what kind of 200amp alt do you have, whats your output at idle (volts and amps), and at what RPM does it reach full tilt?

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing it looks and fits just like the stock alternator would? (CS130D case?)

he might have the DB Electrical 200 amp. same one i have, at idle it will put out 105amps, 1200rpm+ it will put out 200amps. I havent had any issues with mine in over a year now, i recommend them

btw, its the CS130 case. but if you have a 4.3L i think you could get the CS144 with a bracket, that will allow you to get up to a 300amp

there are brackets for the CS130 case too, buddy of mine has an Iraggi 300amp on his 2.2

Yeah I've got the AD244 on my truck from an '03 Suburban with the H.O. 5.3L. Oh btw, it bolts right in, same wire harness, too. I think with the CS144 you need to hardwire the harness. It's just stock right now, but it's got enough juice for me.

I just have yet to find out a reason why when you upgrade the output of an alternator, you loose output at idle, and it can be very hard to achieve the best of both worlds. I've read it's got something to do with a cheap regulator that isn't very compatible with the stator or something. It's been awhile since I've looked into it.

sorry for the delay it is a db alt when i purchased it it had a small pulley on it but my sts pulley was even smaller than it at idle its @ 155 @ 1500 its around 220, the voltage very drastically for some reason, bearing has made noise since i got it they are giving me the run around buddy purchased one perfect no problems at all
