Re: sound system show off!!

Here are mine, im only running 1200w. i will add another amp soon, the subs are 12' Treo enginerring subs, they handle over 2000w each rms.

Im not sure but i think it hit 147db max, these subs are much better then anything ive heard for size

Re: sound system show off!!

well my system is still in the development stage so here it is
15" mtx 5500 sub
2.53 ft sq box
8 year old crossfire amp 300watts rms
4 guage power wire
stock deck
im working on getting 2 15" subs so this is only temporary.

and yes that is a wallmart rca converter
i have extra slack on the power wire becuase i havent decided where i am going to mount the amp when i get 2 subs.

Re: sound system show off!!

lafever25, i like your box. it looks really clean in your truck. Did you lookse any legroom? Im thinking about putting 2 12" mempis PR subs in the back of my regular cab but i wasnt sure if they would fit without loosing legroom.

I loss 1 click. i made the base of my box 9". i wanted to make sure the subs would fit. they did with little extra clearance. i could of made the box 8" or 8.5" and not lose any leg room. its still comfortable. as long as the mounting dept of the subs are about 5 1/2" or smaller you can make the box 8" and not lose any leg room.

Cool... I might go with 2 12s when i get some money. Just wandering tho...... is that box big enough for those subs?? I have 2 10s rigt now and my box goes all the way acroos the back of my truck and its still not quite big enough. If i build a box for 2 12s i will make it bigger tho.

The box could be a lil bigger. there is still about 5" i could of used up to the sides and could of been taller. but the box and subs sound great.

Re: sound system show off!!

i don't think so.

yea the first delivery of batts we got was 2 pallets worth, of 120 batteries!

The delivery driver asked us what the hell we were doing with all these batteries and we pointed to the Astro and said we are putting all those in that van. he didn't believe us.

Re: sound system show off!!

i think whats also impressive is 120 batteries =8280 pounds (69 pounds a piece I believe they are)
But I think they only put 100 batteries in the astro at once which still = 6900 pounds!

Did that van even have a suspension or did you just make it like a hard/stiff axle?

Re: sound system show off!!

we had 120 in it at one time. plus 70 or 75 alcad batteries. we added the weight up at one point at 20,000 pounds total!!! That's with the concrete, box, subs, amps, wheels, tires, van, and custom twin i beam frame

Re: sound system show off!!

the new all wheel drive van just has the front drivetrain, with welded up suspension. the rear was 2 4 inch high pieces of i beam stacked on top of each other welded to the front sub frame with trailer spindles on the rear so there is nothing but air under the van for battery space.

Any problem with your window monitors? I had 7" in mine and they lasted 1 day in 95 degree weather at a show on memorial day. Also I had a hard time seeing them in the daylight. I got them replaced and now they are in my visors.
