Re: sound system show off!!

Well I did it, I bought two 12" kicker cvt's after hearing about the shallow mounting depth...man these thump! For their size im impressed!

Now I just need to build a box to go in my x-cab.

I wanna stay with the kicker theme, so whats a good kicker amp to power the two 12's? any suggestions welcome...

Re: sound system show off!!

I ran the zx750.1 to the two 10's in the truck we are working on now and i have it only a 1/4 way up and it sounds very nice. The low bass is crazy you wouldn't think it would be by looking at the subs. Either the zx750.1 or the zx1000.1 would work good for you but then it's all up to you I can give u an estimate of the price(our shop is a kicker dealer) Just out of curiousity what did u pay for the cvt's?

No pictures as of yet still a work in progress that will be wrapped in marine grade vinyl but here goes... Alpine CDA-9857 Alpine 6 1/2 component system in doors, Alpine 2 way 6X9's in console with a Type-R 10" sub. Door and 6X9's powered by an Alpine MRP-F450 (700W max) and sub powered by an Alpine MRP-F550 (1000W max) (of course max don't mean squat approx 900W RMS). All in a regular cab... yes your ears can bleed...lol

depends what u want a sealed box will be tighter and more musical but a ported box will be more boomy. Also you can put more power to a sealed enclosure sub vs a ported

i have one of the 2ohm version 12" in my regular cab, and at first i wasnt impressed, it didnt sound the best, but after a week it sounded amazing and it hits like a fat kid sitting down for cake, its insane, considering i paid $270 for it and the kicker 400.1 amp, my brother paid $200 a sub for his system i put in and it doesnt hit the hardest
