Re: sound system show off!!

post a pic of your dash steve. some people had 1.5 dins and some people had 2 din sizes in 02. 03s were all double din, and 01s were all single din, but 02 it might have been either one, doesnt have to be the RDS radio to be double din eithere. sticking out isnt the issues, its the din size

Re: sound system show off!!

I don't think so. You have a 1.5 din, and that deck is a double din.

Re: sound system show off!!

that is a 2 din i believe, i know because the radio opening appears to be a little narrower then the HVAC control opening. if they were the same width then it is 1.5 din, but his radio opening appears to be narrower.

Re: sound system show off!!

well last nice i noticed on my box round the corners of my amp rack mainly on the backside passenger and front that its starting to crack. it seems to be cracking from the inside out since the clear hasnt cracked or the paint. i have the amp rack supported underneath and it is a seperate chamber from teh box itself so no air is being pushed so im guessing maybe a stress crack? if it gets worse i will take it out and sand it down and redo the corners but so far so good with it not spreading(knock on wood), just weird and most of the people i have talked to that have delt with glass dont understand y either. im just hoping it doesnt get worse and are just stress cracks. hate to take it out and redo it again, but i may have to.

Re: sound system show off!!

Here's my setup, pretty basic, but sounds decent, and I got everything for cheap. Excuse the dirtiness and wires aren't routed really well yet.

Sony Xplod CD Head Unit
MB Quart 6.5s
Ghetto Brand 4x6s
MTX 250 Amp on the doors
Sony Big Ass Amp 1 Ohm Stable
2 Planet Audio 8s

Re: sound system show off!!

heres my old RF 225.2 i bought from tweter in 6/98. i used it for 4 months in my 87 s15 with a 15" kicker solo-baric. then i bought a 2000reg cab so i sold the 15" and the amp sat around till 2005, used it until my new 2000 was broken into 1 week after newyears 07. they got everything but my amp. its nothing compared any of the stuff on here but its good for me.

Re: sound system show off!!

i hate theives, there was an outbreak of systems being stolen, my brother was one of the victims, his car was at the dealership needing $1000 in motor repairs/labor, so it was parked outside on their property, got a phonecall that someone broke into it, funny thing is, they broke into the dealership's garage and "stole some tools" and broke into his car, stole the 2 7" dvd screens, dvd player, cd player=sony crap, his 2 10" alpine type e subs and alpine amp, cut battery cause of his alarm. the dealership said they didnt have insurance for that so my brother got nothing. it was a slap in the face on how shady some dealerships are. makes no sense at all.

i just finished my system build, its nothing fancy, doesnt sound that great when it hits hard, but for 1.55 cubed sealed box in a regular cab with only losing 1 click, its good enough, no pictures, just finished it

Re: sound system show off!!

here is mine, not sure if anyone has done this, i am sure they have. it's not done and i can get more pics later but she sounds pretty good. i hated having my old subs behind my seat in my standard cab so i cut a big hole in my truck

1 kicker 12" solox
2 kicker l7 10"
2 kicker zr1000 amps(love the old school amps)
1 sony two channel in the glove box
pioneer avic n2 nav unit
stock door and dash speakers
i have 2 zr120 amps to go in it for mids and highs and i plan to get some nice new kicker door and dash speakers. I still have to put in my bass cube and get a better cd changer.

Re: sound system show off!!

no all their own chanmber of different sizes to accomodate the sub and to change the tuning of the box so they dont have cancelation problems. i am underpowering the solox by about 1000 watts and the L7's are about where they are suppose to be. They are linked together and i have a remote gain where my lighter use to be in the ash tray. I just bought all the stuff to bag it(what brought me to the site). oh yea that's saw dust on the box, i was building it then it started raining i tell you that is one heavy box
