Re: soon to come..

id say that the 2 r's wouldnt be any louder than your 3 cvr's. maybe not as loud. but as for tuning, go around 32 like dimedrop said and you will be fine

Re: soon to come..

well, you just type in box volume, your desired frequency, and what diameter port you're willing to use. then hit equals and it'll tell you how long the port should be.

okay..but aint the subwoofer enclosure calculator on there is for round ports?

quoted -

Port Length CalculatorTo calculate the port length of a round port, enter the diameter of the port (D), the box volume (Vb) in cubic feet, and the desired tuning frequency (Fb). Here is the formula we use: ((14630000*(D/2)*(D/2))/((Fb*Fb*Vb*1728)-(1463*(D/2)))) Please compare your answers with other programs that include other allowances such as tapered ports.

aint i need a slot port calculator?

Re: soon to come..

you don't NEED a slot port, but if you'd rather have one, you can find the specs for the vent on one twelve and multiply by the number of subs. like if you need a 1.5 x 15 inch slot thats 22 inches long for one twelve, and you wanna run two, then you need a 1.5 x 15 inch slot thats 44 inches long or a 3 x 15 inch slot thats 22 inches long. its just adding.

Port tuning is based on enclosure size. Port area is based on the woofer.

right but would he not double the enclosure size as well if running two subs rather than one?

I got to thinking that that was a possibility; but haven't checked if it works out that way with a calc. If it indeed works out like that, I'll give you signature-quality props.

Re: soon to come..

By got-damn 97dimedrop, you are absolutely correct!!!
I had no idea that it worked out like that. I appreciate the knowledge; and hope that others will take this useful with them when they decide to build themselves a ported enclosure. Thanks!

Will that do?

You are a buff sumbioch, 97dimedrop! I'll hang your picture in front of my weight bench, as a goal of achievement for myself! Thanks!

I'll throw that one in there, just in case the first one wasn't enough.
