Should I get rid of the 4x6 in my dash?

I have a pair of Infinity 4x6 Reference speakers. They sound pretty good, but alot of threads on here say that no dash speakers would be better?

I am running Soundstream 6.5 and Soundstream Tweeters..

Sold my subs because they sucked with the boss amp, and I am going to buy a 60/40 bench and throw a 15'' behind the pass seat..

Would any of you recommend me selling my plate speakers? I have a very expensive amp hooked up to all of them if it'd change it also.

Go with whatever sounds best to you. Not everyone ditches the dash speakers. I'm one of many that prefer to use them, just fade them off a little. Again, it's what sounds best to you and differs on systems and set-ups.

the best imaging is going to be eithe JUST door speakers, or kick panels. fade the dash speakers, basically use them for fill. run more power to your doors.

do you like it now? or just wondering if you need to change it? try dis connecting the dash speakers and give it a listen.

I use mine to lift the stage a bit. I prolly fade them 75% though (25% on). And I use them for emergency speakers so I gots sounds when the system is being worked on :P

I have my alpine type s comps in my door and boston s75s 4x6s in the dash. I have my fader set all the way to the rear, it sounds better to me. Like ckr74 said do watever sounds best to you. Play around with your settings.

Faded it 8 to the rear, and it doesn't give me headaches anymore..

Sounds a lot cleaner also.

Re: Should I get rid of the 4x6 in my dash?

you could also fit 5.25's in the dash... did that in mine. doesnt take much work either. Im about to make new brackets to fit 6.5 components in the spot too....

Re: Should I get rid of the 4x6 in my dash?

I had a set of 4 in components in my dash with 0 fade and it sounded good to me, just set the fade so you can't hear the dash and you be the judge if you want to keep them.
