I am putting an autopage 420 in my 91 blazer. it has automatic locks already. is the blazer lock system 3 wire positve or negative. i am pretty sure it is not reverse polarity, but not 100%. i could use trial and error but would rather have someone that klnows for sure tell me.
also since i have 4 doors would i have to wire each door or is there a MAIN harness i can jump off of? thanks all |

Re: keyless alarm
I thought reverse polarity. Test it. if i remember correctly you can get them in the drivers kick panel. this will do all the doors.

Re: keyless alarm
it is a 5 wire system you need two relays...
5-wire door locks are a bit more complicated. While the switch is off, both wires (lock and unlock) are grounded. When the switch is pushed for example to the unlock position, the unlock wire gets disconnected from the ground, and connected to +12v, activating the actuator. Same applies to the lock wire, but this time the voltage is reversed, moving the door lock actuators in the opposite direction. Here you have to cut the factory relays and hook up the aftermarket relays as shown. On the diagram, the "to switch" end of the wire is grounded and the "to solenoid" end of the wire either locks or unlocks the doors if given +12v. ![]() Last edited by orangesonoma : 08-25-2008 at 09:05 AM. |
