It's all done... Pics soon.
So I know it was frustrating to deal with me but I have my whole system done. Thanks for all of your help, even you Paint Toad. The system is as follows.
Head unit - Pioneer/Premier DEH-P690UB http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ers/DEH-P690UB Dash/rear speakers - Infinity Kappa 462.9CFP (Dash) http://www.infinitysystems.com/car/p...=US&Region=USA Pioneer TS-A4103 (Rear) http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...akers/TS-A4103 Dash/rear speakers amp - Hifonics TXI-4408 http://www.maxxsonics.com/hifonics/amps_titan.html Sub - Pioneer TS-SW1241D http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...low/TS-SW1241D Sub amp - Hifonics TXI-6008 http://www.planetcaraudio.com/images...1447418159.gif Optima red top, Wires from work and Soon a HO alt. A heads up for those considering the Infinity dash speakers they bottomed out in my dash on the A/C system ducts. I fab'ed some rings out of starboard to raise them out of the hole so I wouldnt have to cut the ducts. Thanks again guys. |

Looks pretty sweet. Post an update on how you like the shallow mount.

Re: It's all done... Pics soon.
Thanks for the comments guys. Nobody mentioned a component set but then again I dont think I said what my plans were exactly. I only want good clean sound for my DD. This set up does exactly that. Everybody I spoke to told me it was stupid to put the 4x10's in the back but I have this thing with "if there's a spot for them then put them in." I have no complaints. However I dont have my music on blast so my idea of a great system may be quite diffrent from some others. The shallow mount is great. I'll post up again in a few days when I get the EQ and amp dialed in and let you know what I think. However this is comeing from a guy that also has a 2006 cobalt ss with factory sub, and the stock system was almost enough for me in that. Oh well, the s-10 deff. needed an upgrade.

Re: It's all done... Pics soon.
Easy there skinny... I said soon, so for an exact date I will have pics tuesday evening. Thats my only time off this week and I have to take my cam. back for a new one cause when I plug the charger in it does nothing. Sorry, I guess I should have waited to post.
EDIT: I think it's cute that you claim (no offence) to be 28 but act like a child, "homie." I'll go get a camera now so I can post pics just for you "Homie." Last edited by cams : 06-29-2008 at 12:24 AM. |

Re: It's all done... Pics soon.
$215 for the head unit. (was $310 but it was the last one there and the floor model so I talked them down.)
$92 and change after tax and shipping for the infinitys. They go for $120 I think. $106 for the Hifonics TXI-4408 I dont know what they go for. $72 for the pioneer rears. $115 for the Hifonics TXI-6008 $95 for the shallow mount sub. I already had the battery and dont remember what I paid for it and the wires and misc. crap came from work. So the grand total is around $695 top to bottom some of the stuff includes tax and some doesnt and I think the dash kit was $15. |

Re: It's all done... Pics soon.
I'm sorry I didnt understand what you meant. Yeah the grills came up and I hated it and decided to change it. The speakers did not hit on the drivers side but on the passenger side the heat sink/magnet hit the top/back of the a/c duct. I didnt want to cut it because that is doing it half ass and losing the functionality of the a/c system. And I dont do anything half ass. So my fix is... Get a heat gun and get the duct real hot and then mold it and shape it so the speaker clears. It only took me a minute or so. So anybody that has that issue can easily do this.
