I forget his username at the moment (I'm gonna freak when I remember it....), but he had 4 fully loaded 15" Fi BTL's ported in his extended cab and was running like over 15kW rms of power....

Those are actually AD244's, and not cs130d's. I remember him saying that the mount that he built was a big PITA, and he didn't wanna mass produce them (or at least take orders on them). So idk what you guys' have heard lately, but that was about 8 months ago or so.

If I can get the funds together for a 200A AD244, I'll probably order one.
I wanna get an amp first (backwards I know.. sorta, but its a big piece of my system and it'll be more motivation than an alt)

From what I can find it should fit, but I can't verify it 100%

Re: How To: High Output AD244 Alternator for ~$80

In case anyone is still wondering. This should help shed some light on the belt situation for the:

99-05 Blazer
99 - 01 Trailblazer
99 - 04 S10
All 99-05 4.3L's use the same belt (with a/c).
For a 1" longer belt use the Dayco Part#5060960 or the Goodyear Gatorback part#4060960 (imo better quality)

Got this information from: partsamerica.com and daycoproducts.com
Hope this Helps!

This is good info to have, but from what I've found, people are using different size belts for different year trucks. The 96" may be long enough for this guy with a '00 pickup, but I'll need a 96.5" long belt for my '99. It's weird I know, and I mentioned this in the OP.

That's a good starting point, but just remember that there is that possibility that you could need a different belt (longer or shorter, use common sense when installing) than that 96"

It's a good starting point like you said, I guess.
I just put on the Gatorback 96", the 96.75 was a bit too loose for my application
Thnx for all the help and a good How To

If I recall, I have a 96.5" on my '99 Zr2, not 100% sure.

No problem, I just think a LOT of people could benefit from this. I can't take all of the credit, I've had a lot of help along the way from the guys over at Zr2usa and here on s10forum.

Re: How To: High Output AD244 Alternator for ~$80

I'd like to upgrade to the HO AD244 Alt. for my 95 Blazer 4wd with CPI motor. My alt is on the opposite side of the engine than the newer blazers and the plug is at the 5-6 oclock position on mine. Has anyone done this on a setup like mine? If so, I'll be junkyard diving again.

Re: How To: High Output AD244 Alternator for ~$80

I finally got the HO AD244 and installed it late last night, fits great, works great, i'll have to get some readings tonight. I don't have anything that draws serious power over stock yet, but at least now I know I can upgrade without worrying. Plus the stock alternator was starting to crap out anyways.

I'll post pics and readings as soon as I can...

Re: How To: High Output AD244 Alternator for ~$80

hey guys, i am looking at an alternator on ebay thats going for like $20. it's for a 99 sierra. the guy has no idea of the part number as it is in inventory. the ad says it should fit the following:

1999 Sierra 1500 & 2500 4.3L
1999 Silverado 1500 & 2500 4.3L

any ideas if this will work or not? lol nothing like shopping for parts with the least amount of info on them.

Well, according to this link:

http://www.wai-wetherill.com/product...um=1-2419-21DR

It will fit, but it's hard to tell from the pictures. I wish the seller would include another pic or two.

Find out if the plug on it has 4 prongs in it or 2. If its the 4 prong one its the one you want, if its the 2 prong one it won't work.

Re: How To: High Output AD244 Alternator for ~$80

I read most of the thread and I see a lot of people are concerned/worried about belt sizes. Method I have seen used which seems to work great is take a piece of string wrap it around all your pulleys as if it was a belt.

Cut that string at the exact length go to your local parts store and find a belt that matches up. Just an idea.

I'm going to pick up a new AD244 next week hopefully and go from there. Great info on here thanks guys.

That's a great idea on the string idea.

Oh and btw make sure that the AD244 that you get is a GENUINE AC Delco AD244. I can name 4 people off the top of my head that have had problems with the reman AD244's. It's worth the extra money, trust me.

Re: How To: High Output AD244 Alternator for ~$80

mine

bought it USED off ebay for $50 and $16 shipping, still looks brand-new
also upgraded the charging wire to some 1/0. Still have 2 runs of 1/0 for the system.

Also i did not buy a new belt because i had a spare alternator for my other car that had a much smaller pulley on it, just switched pulley between the 2. and another plus is now its spinning faster too.

If the sierra had the 4.3L in it, then yeah it did have the same alternator.

There isn't a specific "AD244" stamped right on the case. Look at the pictures I just posted of my AD244, the "sidewall" between the pulley and the top of the alternator is a lot bigger than the one you bought.

Re: How To: High Output AD244 Alternator for ~$80

So I bought an alternator off of eBay that did not have the model # listed but it was listed a 145a, has the 4 prong plug and was said to be off of the list of vehicles for the ad244. So I figured i would give it a shot and ordered it. Its turned out to be a DR44. The bolts appear to be spaced the same and the plugs match, will this alternator work?

Picture of the actual alternator? Or a link to the ebay auction would prolly work as well.

It looks just like the ad244 (the larger case) except it has the different # stamped on it. I can take some pics now
