Had a thought

Well I have 2 12 Type R's at the moment and been running them for years. So I guess you can say I'm bored of them. Thinking about Changing it up and going with 4 10" Types S. What you guys think? Good/bad idea? I have an ext. cab by the way. I'll also be running these off my Alpine MRP-M1000. Guys with tens how do you like them compaired to 12's? I've never owned 10's before so any input would be great

Re: Had a thought

Try switching to 2 Type Xs. And Idk about the four 10s. What are you trying to go for more sound quality or are you hopeing to be louder then ur previous Type R's? For the 10's, maybe more punchy not as low? Hmm good question.

I have only had 10's and I always said I would never switch from that size. I think they are far more accurate and they hit that loooong bass note at that right tone that the 12's seem to miss... I also have only had sealed boxes with my 10's. I am now switching to a Type X 12"...

Re: Had a thought

I'm lookin for a bit more punch but I also just want something different, kinda bored with 12's. got the idea in my head for havin 4 subs so I figured tens would be good. odds are it'll be louder than my 2 12's. not sure if I'm gonna port or be sealed, I have all winter to decide that. Plus once I got the idea in my head, I saw this video and it made my decision.

Just something about those 4 little bastards goin that i like

Re: Had a thought

I had a 12 type s years ago and it was pretty good. It's still running strong in my buddies truck. What would you guys recomend other than the type S, I'm kinda stuck on the 4 10's now, lol. But I'm open to options. probly just gonna stick with the one amp though. gonna build a false floor to hide the amps(M1000+4 Channel) on the floor behind the seats with a couple fans. So I guess I need a good match for 1000RMS @2ohm

Re: Had a thought

Thats a nice setup. They make the type R 10''s. I havent really looked into RE but those look nice and the price seems good. What price range are you looking at for each sub or have you made up your mind? Those do look like they would do the trick. And maybe with four tens ull want a second amp.... lol idk not my setup..

Re: Had a thought

haha, an 18 would be insane, lol. So maybe I'll go with 4 of the Re's. I know not to many people up here run them. Are they a good quality sub?

If I was to go with the 4type r's I'd have to run something in the 1500-2000W range. Trying to kinda make this work around the amp I have seeing its only a few months old
