good 5 channel amp

I am looking at getting a new amp to power everyting inside my truck. hwats a good 5 channel amp to use that decent priced. I am trying to power all 4 components and the maybe some tweeters plus my 2 ten inch cvrs. I am not looking for alot of spl but nice sound quailty. I have all kicker speakers so I was thinking one of there amps, but whats a good watt rating for the amp. My cd player gets loud but starts to sound bad after 3/4 volume.

Don't know how you feel about eD, but if you'd like...

OOF! All gone.

Look for Memphis belle, Baby Belle, and/or Fultron Belle.

Powerbass 500.5
http://www.powerbassusa.com/products..._class_ab.html

I've had it in my Firebird for over a year, under my sub box, no problems whatsoever. The amp is also the size of a run of the mill 2 channel, which is a main reason I got it for my bird. Price is fairly low for it too.

Re: good 5 channel amp

well I got my 700.5 kicker with some kicker tweeters and man I can believe what a great setup it is now.. Loud bass with tons of highs to back it up and really clean mids. I also love the remote gain control, its so nice being able to adjust it that easy.

Re: good 5 channel amp

ARC Audio KS900.6 is probably the most impressive multi-channel amp I've seen in action.

Independent gain controls for each channel. Ultra flexible. Best watt/$. Just feed it the power it wants and it will reward you...

That Arc is a clean looking amp.

The is a Soundstream Van Gogh on fleabay with 2 days left @$102.50 rught now.

As a matter of fact, ther are a ton of 5&6 channel amps on ebay. It's a good way to find out what is out there, old school and new.

You know its a sad day when people care more about the aesthetic of an amplifier than the performance...

C'mon now, would anyone have rocked the old Power650 and 1000 if it looked like this:

Without the covers, those PPI amps aren't half bad looking. They remind me of a Star Trek ship. The S.S. Boomchikawahwah. I don't mind it myself.

Re: good 5 channel amp

I care alot about the way an amp looks cause it out in the open in my truck and I dont want to look at some ugly thing. But I dont want it to sound like poo either so I think I got the best of both worlds. I am in love with this amp, sounds so great nice and crisp everything, and so loud

Re: good 5 channel amp

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it's suggested you set the gains on the head unit first before even touching that bass knob.

Re: good 5 channel amp

gains on the head unit?

no
set the gain on the amp with a dmm so you dont clip the sub then when you turn the knob to max it will never go above that point so you are safe. Knobs are kind of handy, especially if you have gobs of watts at substage. I keep mine down most of the time then I can jam it when i want or when a song doesnt have a strong bass line turn it up.

Re: good 5 channel amp

I bought a MTX 4405 a few years ago. And it looks good too.

RMS Power measured at 12.5 Volts DC:
25 Watts RMS/Ch x 4 into 4 Ohms with less than 1% Thd+N
50 Watts RMS/Ch x 4 into 2 Ohms with less than 1% Thd+N
100 Watts RMS bridged x 2 into 4 Ohms with less than 1% Thd+N
Subwoofer
100 Watts RMS into 4 Ohms with less than 1% Thd+N
200 Watts RMS into 2 Ohms with less than 1% Thd+N
Dynamic Power measured at 14.4 Volts DC
Front and Rear
65 Watts x 4 into a 4 Ohm load
125 Watts x 4 into a 2 Ohm load
250 Watts bridged x 2 into a 4 Ohm load
Subwoofer
150 Watts x 1 into a 4 Ohm load
300 Watts x 1 into a 2 Ohm load
