Gauge Lights Stopped Working

I Put A New Cd Player In My 2000 s10 But It Was The Same Brand and The Wiring Looked The Same .. and When I Tryed To Turn The Lights On The Gauge Lights Dont Come ON .. Ive Checked The Fuses On The Side Of The Dash but I Dont Know Where the fuse is under the hood so i can check them. idk what it could be .. the dimmer doesnt dim the light but if u click it up top the over head lights comee on .. does anyone know what it could be .. im los

You might have the illumination wire for the CD player hooked up improperly or shorting out on something inside your dash. Usually orange or yellow depending on the head unit
