just sent you a PM, looks like you got a thread out though (good idea).
everything you're saying sounds correct, but like i said, i need to inspect under the hood of another first gen to tell you if it's true or not. |

Re: couple questions about stock wires for big 3
I threw my wires in the trash but there wasn't fused in any way on the 87. My dad's 93 are not fused either.
What junction box you talking about? One you installed? I have a bone stock 92 4.3 parts truck that I can try to look at for you that has never had any of the electric stuff touched besides the battery being swapped. |

Re: couple questions about stock wires for big 3
that would be great neo... the wire that thats goin from my battery to alternator is one wire but then has 2 fuse lookin deals.. then makes 2 wires in a loom then back out to one wire and hooks to the alt.
then there are 2 more fused wires comin from the juction box or whatever u call it that also go to my alternator.. like this ![]() ![]() the 2 bottom red ones are the one thats in the above pics.. they go from that box to my alt im wondering if the wire goin from my battery to the alt is tied in with that wire somehow?? ![]() |

Re: couple questions about stock wires for big 3
I'm pretty sure what your calling fuses are diodes (only allow current to flow one way)
The 2 wires that go to that factory block supply the ecm and volt meter on the dash if I recall right. The other wire on the alt is the charging wire and thats the one you wanna upgrade. Glad to see you finally fixed your amp wire. |
