I had mine facing up with port to the rear... bounces the port output off the inside of the tailgate and back to the front of the truck

Re: Blazer owners...sub direction...

With or without port, facing the rear is best. The port should usually be facing the same direction as the subs in car setups though.

Re: Blazer owners...sub direction...

Per Pete Kulicki's (hexibase.com) advice, I aimed my port rearwards and my subwoofer toward the passenger side with the box situated along the driver's side. He did a little calculating and referencing his tables of data that he's collected on many different vehicles and suggested that situation for SQ with my subwoofer in a Blazer. Since he's the audio engineer and way smarter than I ever hope to be, I took his advice.

I have mine subs up port back. Only way I've tried it though, I'm happy with it.

I've had them both ways.. To me if you want sq point them up. IMO everything flexes and vibrates much more with them facing towards the back. The best thing to do is try both ways & see what sounds best to you.

Re: Blazer owners...sub direction...

Might try side firing on the next set up I install actually. Thinking I could integrate it to the interior for a nice look as well. Mine will be facing the driver side though, hopefully will not sound bad...only real option with the spare on the driver side.
