alternator

i am about to be running 2 cerwin vega strokers off a kicker 2500.1 amp and battery and some 1/0 ga and some 4 ga wiring.. What size alternator would be recommended for this set up and what is a price I am looking at?

ive got 4 L7 12s a zx2500.1 and zx850.4 2 gel cells and a db electrcal 200 amp alt does alright still sucks at an idle

i run an 1800w rms mono and a 1000w 4 ch on a Excessive amperage 200amp. i need new deep cycle bat..but work's well on optima red..it cost me $225.00 shipped...(alt )

mine suck's at idle also...they all do , they're not meant to put out at idle...

You could spend $50 on a used AD244 alternator and a few bucks on a longer belt and get 145 amps at speed and over 100 amps at idle. It just bolts right in and plugs in like your standard CS130 alternator.

probably not. that information could have been useful in the first post...


unless ford changed something with the engine or the alternator between 07 and 08, your alternator is rated at 130 amps already. if 130 amps doesn't end up being large enough to handle your load, look for a local alternator/starter rebuild shop and have them rewind your alternator for a higher amperage. that is probably going to be the most reliable and cheapest solution.

tempe (who no longer frequents this forum) drives a ranger and has never owned a dime.
