Alt/engine noise

I know, I know use the search button and I have and read as much as I possibly could and tried pretty much everything that was said...but I still have alt and engine noise coming through my speakers. Everything is grounded to the frame, my RCA's are on the other side of the cab from my power wires, I tried grounding my RCA's which actually helped a little but I guess I'm retarded because the way I grounded it caused my radio fuse to blow (not the head unit one the one in the fuseblock) so I nixed that since it didn't completely stop the noise anyway. Either way my question is, could the noise be caused by my cheap amp? I basically pulled an 8" clarion sub out of a premade truck box for an F150 and used the little 100 watt (I think) amp that came with it. I got the premade box for free and needed something to use as a template for my console/sub box I was building since I won't have the money until next summer to get what I want. And I figured since I have it why not use it. Sorry for the book, just trying to explain my situation so that I don't get flamed as bad as I deserve.

Re: Alt/engine noise

i said this in a different thread....try grounding your RCAs to the back of your headunit. all you gotta do is wrap a piece of wire around the metal part of the RCAs and touch the other end to a ground. See if that works

What ground do I ground to? I read that you need to ground to the head unit but when I tried that it popped the fuse everytime.

edit: change that I mean where at on the headunit, before I just wrapped it around the RCA and then put the other end under a screw on the back and it popped the fuse.

Re: Alt/engine noise

Could possibly be the inputs on the amp.

Re: Alt/engine noise

nope only thing I have are cds and radio.... I'm thinking its just because it is cheap... I'm doing a lot of research over the next year and then I will build a much better system, well hopefully it may take me a couple years to do it since I'm on a really low budget but once I build it I don't plan on redoing it over and over I wanna do it right the first time.
