Re: Project: Loud and Low

Patiently waiting on wire. Still gotta install my alt bracket though. Been working on stuffing 3 batts in the back of this thing lol

Here is a pic of where I plan on putting 2 of em.

I had to cut out some of the inner skin to get it to fit good. Plan on wrapping the batt in a plastic bag and foaming under and behind the batt to help hold it in place.

Tight but it fits that's looking inside the side panel beside the back seats.

This was given to me a few weeks ago. Went out and shot it for the first time this past weekend.

Re: Project: Loud and Low

think i finally have my wiring and battery situation right.

little bit of equipment to work with

here is how the batts will be. will this work though? run alts to the front left battery shown, then to the right battery, then to the back battery, then to the amps? all the wire will be 4/0 welding cable.

any input will be greatly appreciated, seems like the most logical way.

Re: Project: Loud and Low

Here are two ways I could go about wiring them.

I went ahead and did it this way, if it doesn't work it won't be near as hard to change it.

This will be where the two charge wires off the alts come to.

Second batt

3rd batt. Gonna need some terminals for this one. 1 4/0 3 1/0 and 2 gauge on each terminal. Will be 2 4/0 grounds running to frame off this batt also.

Better idea of how it's ran. Still gotta put interior plastics back in.

Got a little bit of a problem i gotta fix first before i install the alts. See how the charging posts stick out? im afraid it is going to hit the hood and the power steering pump. (left alt is the top). gonna send it off to singer to get them re-clocked and possibly powder-coated if he will. might even get a clamp of them since Mechman was too lazy to do so.lol

Sa's are by far the best bang for the buck subs. I had 6 on a ns-1 last year.

Got the LEDs off of eBay. Wasn't gonna pay 3x as much for the same thing on superbrightleds.

actually felt like i got a little bit acomplished today, was gonna send out the alts monday, but said screw it i'll test fit them even though i know they wont fit. i'll be damned if they fit lol

doesnt hit the hood, not even the insulation inside the hood. was rather shocked

here is where i had to beat the fender in a little so the bottom alt would fit right.

little bit of sub porn

this is the plan on securing the subs down

Hopefullly this weekend i get the wires ran for the alts, get everything under the hood done except grounds. plan on getting subs mounted and amp installed besides the power and ground( waiting on a distro block from toolmaker). also plan to figure out the tuning i want and might play around with some polyfill to see how it effects it.

Regulator wired up

Had to fix this. Surprisingly it didn't sound all that bad like this lol

Got the interior put back in for the most part

Wiring up subs

Oh yeah

All mounted up. Gonna do some adjusting on the port and figure out tuning.

With this I have 3 different port tunings, one without The middle, then two different middle sections. 9in,12in, and 16in iirc. Longest one should get me in the 20s

Sending one of the alts off to singer to get clamped an powdercoated. When I get it back ill send the other one off.

Went to the auburn/asu (I'm not an auburn fan, ROLL TIDE!!!)game tonight, but got a little done before the game and last night.

Got my terminals from toolmaker.

Wired up

Alt belt ran for one alt while other is being powdercoated.

2 grounds for my alts, just haven't hooked them up yet.

4/0 cable cutters and crimpers. Life savers and have paid for themselves several times lol

And anyone wanna guess what this means???

Re: 2000 Blazer Build, Sundown Zv.4's,NS-1, 4/0 ,XS power, MECHMAN

Well the 125.4s didn't like 17.1v(batt resting voltage). Talked to a few people and found out that the first run of these amps had the wrong resistor in the protection circuit, causing them to protect on anything higher than 16v. I have 3 of these amps lol so I gotta send all three back in exchange for 3 with the right resistor. Kinda sucks, but part if it I guess. Just gotta wait till I get them back before I can install my subs.

Finally got it up and playing. Moves a little air and plays low lol these subs are beast and are laughing at the ns-1@.5.

Box is in. Damn was it heavy lol

We got powwwaaaa

Little something I'm working on.

One of the many reasons this build has been slow. I've enjoyed every minute of being a dad and wouldn't change it for the world.

Voltage is pretty steady when driving. Not dropping below 18v with just a single alt. the little half side windows on the side rattle like crazy, and surprisingly enough the roof is moving a good bit lol

Gotta get a new radio. The one I have now the display cuts off when the bass hits. Has to do with the way I have it mounted. Gonna order one that doesn't flip down. Likely the kenwood kiv-701.

Haven't played with it much, but has the same features as my old headunit, except it charges my iPad and doesn't have a detachable face. Which is great since my other headunit would cut off with the low lows lol
