Re: 03 S10 dash speakers

you'll most likely run into more problems with having toe modify the factory grills due to the speakers new mounting height instead of the speakers depth.

I just put a set of polk audio 4 x 6" plates in my daily. Didnt have to modify anything on or under the dash to get them to sit in there fine. But did have to cut down the too mounting feet for the covers.

Re: 03 S10 dash speakers

just replaced my 4x6 dash speakers tonight with some Infinity Reference Series... low budget but man they sound 10xs better than the stock speakers.. I had to cut the ears off under the speaker grill mounting screws and cut a bit off the ear that is nearest the a pillar so the little catch thingy could catch. other than that it was really simple and in my case pretty cheap and got me where I wanted to be.. just thought Id share.

Re: 03 S10 dash speakers

I have a set of fusion encounters in my dash (powerd by a clarion head unit) and they sound so much better than the stock ones way louder.
