tweeding the dash!

some of u may have seen my thread on my shaved glove box door. and that i was tweeding the whole dash. well.. my tweed came today. so what did i do in 100 degree heat? slaved in my garage tearing apart the dash... and what a pain in the ass! but a few hrs later she was out.

started cleaning up some of the wiring. new electrical tape (cuz i hate working with 15 year old sticky shit) zip ties here and there. gunna solder my wires for my indash dvd, just have them crimped for now.
newho... heres the destruction (pix were taken b4 wiring clean up, batt then died lol)

how do u think i should paint the gauge bezel? should i paint the whole thing HOC orange like how the blue is now? or should i just paint the parts that stick out orange (if ya can understand what im saying) and then make the rest grey?

thanx. i have the grey one for about 5 years now. and i just picked up the white one back in november. i live in eastern pa, and i went to cinncinatti ohio for it. im the 2nd owner. the guy that had it kept it garage kept and dealer serviced. has all the papers from when it was delivered to his house. i drove it all the way home, and have yet to have any problems with it. and its oringinally from tenn, then he moved to ohio and it was a 3rd vehicle so he decided to sell it. i paid 2000 bux for it and its the cleanest blazer ive ever seen. theres only one little spot of rust on the pass side door. thats it!

Re: tweeding the dash!

made this trim pcs to cover the sides of the dash since im the one thats doing all the work and cant/dont sew, this seemed like the easiest and nicest way to do things.

most the wires cleaned up a bit, retapped or rezip tied. least i know what goes where!

Re: tweeding the dash!

ok so i put the dash back in... and ran into some problems and i need some help!!

im almost positive i got all the computer wires hooked back up correctly. and i relocated the rear window button to the tray like in the pix. i tested it a few times and it worked fine. even since i put the dash back in it was working. now it wont pop the window, or even make the actuator move. and i tested the plug and theres power to the plug. so i got the remote out, hit the button and nothing. but i can hear the main brain for the remote system just clicking. but the door locks work..

also, i tried to start it... just cranks... any ideas?

Re: tweeding the dash!

well i got it running. i guess it was the red and blue harness plugged into the computer. had them in, but they didnt click in i guess. but i still didnt get the hatch working. i wouldnt think it could be the computer being that it worked before that, but ill check just to make sure.

heres some pix of it installed!
