How-To: Remove Sunfire Headrests

Alright, im writing this because EVERYONE asks this, and I couldnt find any actual how-to's on doing this...

So here goes:

how i got the headrests out of the bucket seats was easy. took me about 2 minutes per bucket, once i knew what i was doing. start by pulling up on the headrest until the white plastic sleeve pops out, and starts to pull on the fabric (this will give you a bit more workspace). if you cant move the fabric around the hole, push the white sleeve in until the fabric is more loose.

now grab yourself a small screwdriver, and stick it into the hole. try to pry outwards to stretch the fabric a bit (dont worry, it will go back to normal). what you are looking for is a copper pin. slide your screw driver under the pin like i have done.

now just give it a yank, and the pin will come out. repeat on the other side, and your headrest will be able to come out. if you want to, you can put the headrest back in for cruisin around.

should look like this when you are done. if you want to, you can make caps or whatever for the seats. i personally dont care right now, so im not worried about it.

now if you want that stupid seat-belt holding thing off, there are 2 small metal one-way washer things... just get a pair of side-cutters, get a bite on them and twist. they should break. slide the seat-belt holder off, and you have a way better looking headrest.

end result

headrest in, minus the seat belt holder

Re: How-To: Remove Sunfire Headrests

i just hope this gets stickied or put in the how-to section so people dont have to keep asking about it... i found so many threads asking how to do it, and so many people getting mad at others for not searching hahaa! kinda funny, but sad... i rectified the situation, hopefully one of the mods will either how-to this, or sticky it.

yea, a cut-off wheel will work, but the little clip is a simple thing to get off.

and i love my computer chair. it has to be low cause my desk is actually a coffee table and i have about 14" between the floor and the bottom of the table :P
