How to clear dash needles (2000 s10)

Tomorrow I'm replacing my dash lights with LEDs, I'm using super white LEDs on the speed gauge and tach and really neon blue for the smaller gauges, I was just wondering how to get the orange off the stock needles, and also what color you guys recommend so that their visable but still look nice, also how do you remove the clear protector on the instrument cluster, my s10 is. A 2000 ext cab. Thanks

Sandpaper to take off the orange, there's many threads on this. As for the color, I'd do clear, white or blue. The plastic cover just snaps on/off the cluster assembly, very simple. You'll have to remove the back piece off the assembly as well to swap out the bulbs.

finger nail polish remover is the easiest way.

The only way I've found to get the clear plastic off is a dremel and cut off disk, I've broke about 20 of them trying to heat and pry them. I had my needles chromed now it's hard to see at night, can't find a reverse glow gauge for my cluster anymore.

i did mine with a razor blade. there clear n light up green with gauges

isnt dark enough but u get the idea
