how do seat sliders come off of tracks? help asap please!
i bought some new seats for my '98 s10 that came out of a '00 blazer.... the previous owner cut the mounts off of the sliders, but left the sliders... so im trying to get the whole mount/slider to come out of the slide assembly on my original seats so i can just slide the sliders into the tracks of the new ones... i know it can be done, becuase they had to have slid in there somehow. thanks for the help in advance!!

You have to unbolt the complete track assembly from the seats, the tracks have a dimple in them at the ends to keep them from sliding all the way out.

ahh, i figured that out the hard way... no on to another problem, see, the drivers seat is power.... well he cut the damn sliders off of it too... wtf do i do? thinking of drilling out the rest of the rivets or whatever they are and just bolting my driverside mounts to the electric tracks?

Are they the steal or alum. tracks? If you have the steal and a welder you can weld your mount tabs back onto the power seat tracks, but make sure that you get then back straight and a good weld. If they are the alum. ones you might be able to bolt them back on. |

Re: how do seat sliders come off of tracks? help asap please!
what should i do? if i drill out the remaining part of the rivets or whatever they are that you see cut off in the pictures, could i just do the same to my non power mounts? just cut them off the non-power seats and then bolt them to the power tracks? or am i seriously going to have to buy a whole other power seat track assembly from the junk yard?

The bolts will have to very strong, and have a small head on them to clear the rest of the track assembly. |

not buying new seats, these are mint and no junkyard around here has any good seats, becuase all the truck have been rolled or the windows are gone so theyre all nasty. i was just wondering if the mounting holes for the driverside non-power seats brakckets would match up with ones that are cut off on the power seats for me to weld them back on, either that or ill hit up the junkyard for just the whole track assembly

Yes they will line up with the power seat tracks, the power seat and non power seat tracks have the same mounting tabs.

What don't match up on them? The mounting tabs are the same for power and non power seats. |

Re: how do seat sliders come off of tracks? help asap please!
no, i wasnt talking about where the whole track mounts to the seat frame, i was talking about where the whole seat track mounts to the floor of the truck! they are completely different. i found a good seat track assembly at a local pick'n'pull that i can use, but the damn torx bit screw at the back will not fVcking budge!!! i twised the ridges right off of the torx bit. but all i had on me was my cheap set because ive never encountered one that was that hard to get off, i have some black forged ones, so ill head back out there sunday to get the seat assembly....and by the way... this seat assembly also has the power recline feature for the back of the seat... think it would be worth it to just swap my seat foam and covers over to this seat to have a fully powered seat?

Take a BFH with you and smack the bolt a couple of time before you try to break it loose. And yes I would swap out the foam and cover if it were me. |

Re: how do seat sliders come off of tracks? help asap please!
okay, how do you remove the front motor assembly off of the sliders? everyting else is loose, but the front motor assembly is holding the tracks together, i need them to come apart so i can swap them... heres what im talking about:
